Where the CMC choice routes that made Darnold look good?

It's because that's not what Ben does.

So he had the entire summer to study the old playbooks, see what concepts he liked or didn't, and build an offense that would work for this team with uneven QB play (I think that's fair to say regardless of our QB).  He has a head coach who like to run the ball and control the LOS, and a rookie LT who needs some help and time to get his head where his physical abilities are.

And this is what he has?  Color me disappointed.  Sure, Ben didn't have a ton of great job opportunities after the giants, but he was around guys and he should have learned, even if it's what NOT to do.

This is apparently who Ben McAdoo is.  Or worse, this is Matt Rhule micromanaging things again.  Regardless, this Panthers Offense is not going to win us any games.  We need more than 1 TD a game from them.  We need to be able to score points in this NFL.  We need to be able to convert third downs.  We need to play to our player's strengths.

I'm so happy for the win, but the same issues are still there.

I don't even think anyone can question this through three games. Brady was frustrating because he wasn't a great playcaller but McAdoo both can't design plays nor call then. He is fuging terrible.

Every year our offense gets worse with Rhule as HC. The Teddy year we weren't great but but not totally putrid. Last year we were fuggin terrible but somehow this year we're quite a bit worse.

If we keep Rhule for 2023, I assume our entire offense is just going to devolve to kneeling on each play and then punting.

I'm just baffled why we hired McAdoo. I mean, I realize why we did it. Rhule just wanted to impress Tepper with his ability to get former NFL HCs to take jobs on his staff but from a purely football perspective it makes no sense. Our personnel doesn't fit his offense at all. McAdoo relies heavily on the TE position and that might be our weakest overall position group. We have the best receiving RB in the entire league and McAdoo thinks RBs can only catch screen passes. It's just a really poor fit of scheme and talent. The same thing is true with the other former HC on the staff. Wilks is a cover 3 zone guy. He wants DBs who play off the LOS and read the QB's eyes. Meanwhile we have a bunch of press man CBs. These hires were made by Rhule to show Tepper he could get coaches with legit NFL experience to work with him, not football reasons.

i kinda agree. this macadoo-doo stuff is telegraphed nonsense. also not fair to measure bradys offensive line and what he could do with this one which is miles better.

Wait wait wait..

No adjustments ever in 20+ games.. Do you ppl not remember??

Oline not good?? Why keep calling 7 and 5 step drop plays?? Do you not remember??

How about 3 games he called the same play 7x and it didn't work the 1st 6.. Do you ppl not remember..

How about the 5 games where it looked like the defense was running our WR routes..  Honest at 1st I blamed Darnold for bad decisions and throwing kill balls.. But it happened to every QB who played.. Db's around every pass play?? Defense calling out our route scheme when we lined up.. That's not QB that's the play designer/caller.. Brady was such a genius the NFl figured him out in 7 games... Do ppl not remember this??

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
