The writing was on the wall for him to be let go this season. I am slightly surprised it was this early into the season.

I hope Rhule finds success at his next stop. I think he will.

Why? His hubris is what led to this mess. Him coming in thinking the Panthers were just a Matt Rhule away from the Super Bowl, tossing aside the franchises best ever QB, causing the franchises best ever defensive player to retire, constantly making win-now moves thinking he was the guy to turn Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold, etc. into franchise guys. His constant and dreadful misevaluation of the roster, fueled by his arrogance thinking he was just going to come in with all his college yes men and be the next Belichik, has set us back further than when he arrived. He could have come in, tried his hardest, and just been bad, but humble enough to bring in NFL coaches, respect team leaders, and not fug our future. But he was worse than that. You can’t even look to him and say he’s some high character pillar of the community like Rivera. Rhule will not be missed anywhere.

Maybe our idiotic owner has learned more about hiring a head coach this time around. No more 7 year deals please. Just because he made the right move finally doesn’t mean he should be congratulated. It should have happened at the end of last season. He’s now wasted another year and the team has wasted more money on another useless QB who isn’t even a good stopgap. This next hire is extremely important to determining if Tepper is a complete trash owner or not. The results so far are not good.

Keep in mind, people seem to forget that Hurney was still GM be also played a sizeable part in Rhule being here.

    • Carolina Way is gone, it went out the window with the Belichick hiring. They'll hire the best coach they can, ignoring everything else if possible.    Athletic reports that the school's top two targets are Tommy Lloyd and Billy Donovan. They don't care the buyout for a coach either, they and the boosters are willing to spend and will be going outside of the coaching family tree 100%.
    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
