That’s not my point. Singletary’s contract is only through this season. We obviously aren’t making a run this season and should be trading for future assets. Cook is a rookie 2nd rounder with explosive speed. He can be an asset for the future of our team.

I get it now, though I will say that we could trade for Singletary with the promise of an extension

Fitterer is a fuging moron

why? they just leaked "the bar" now teams know where to start when negotiating. Obviously we wont get two first round picks. However, now teams know where to start negotiating down. If they dont call, then they dont call.

The bottom line is that if we trade CMC we are putting ourselves in dead cap hell.... the only thing that makes that easier to deal with is cheap talented players in the way of early round picks.

If that dumb motherfuger can get a first he needs to accept it the second it comes in.  Dont be cute with this.

Yep

I’m not just trading CMC to trade him. A team needs to send something of value to make absorbing that dead cap hit worth it.

CMC is 26 year old superstar when healthy.

CMC would be a major help for our rookie QB next year BUT trading CMC also improves our chances of landing the #1 pick

I do believe it needs to be at minimum one first rounder. Then some other picks. I sure as sh!t don’t want Singletary or Cook

If we gave up McCaffrey for a single first, especially one expected to be low, that's what I'd consider dumb.

You are nuts, if we can get a first for cmac and his contract that is charlie sheen level winning.   I dont understand the pedestal you guys are putting cmac on.   Running backs dont move the needle in the modern nfl.  They just dont

If you are talking Bills or anther late first it would need to be a 1 & 3.

I rather hope we trade him at this point like others before him he deserves more than this sh*t show of a franchise.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
