You were an outstanding Panther and great member of the community.

 

 It’s a shame we never got to see you with Prime Cam as man what this team could have been and it’s a shame you were stuck behind a lame duck coach and another of ineptitude. Despite all that you were a pro’s pro 

You always gave full effort and despite teams honing in on you, you still made plays and carried this team

 

A great Panther, always 💯 class and I personally wish you nothing but success in the next chapter of your career

This sucks. I’m not mad about the compensation but I’m furious that we are getting rid of a 26 year old superstar all because we made a terrible decision at head coach and wasted his talent on our team. CMC is a star on a team with very few of them, and is one of the top playmakers in the league. We all would have loved for him to be healthy and play out his career here, but a hire like Rhule ruined that.

If he would have stayed here it would be a Barry Sanders 2.0 situation except we’re worse then the Lions of the early 90s

Tear it down. All of it. And get back as many draft picks as you can.

That’s the goal for the Panthers, and it’s good that they did that with Robbie Anderson and now McCaffrey, and they should keep doing it with any big name that could fetch some good picks.

So they did a great job here extracting as much value as possible with a player who wasn’t going to help them now or in the near future, one who also comes with some risk.

I kept warning people about the Browns 1999-2017 likeness. They didn't want to believe but the similarities are so striking.

      I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.

      I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.

      I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
