Sadly, the Panthers have to contend with the likelihood that if we don't trade off some of these stars now, they're simply going to walk in free agency anyway.

We can tag burns while we get the coach and QB figured out and potentially turn things around quick.

Wow just think of what we could get from trading our young pass rusher

it can even be a young pass rusher!

Exactly lol…and might not even be good,

Unless Burns is causing drama behind the scenes demanding to get out, this would be incredibly stupid.

He will likely end this year with his best stats yet, thanks to Brown, so his value won’t drop.

Picks attract coaching candidates but so do you  proven commodities with still a year to play on a 5th year contract. In other words let the new coach decide, Burns can always be traded later. Unless of course he gets injured.

For two first round picks? Are you nuts? He’s a good pass rusher but he’s garbage against the run and no player is untradable on this garbage team.

I’d hate to see him go, but for 2 firsts and maybe more, we can find someone else to get 9.5 sacks a year and be suspect against the run.

It’s not that easy. Burns has issues with his game but he’s still a really good player. It’s not just the 9.5 sacks it’s the pressure he causes and the attention he commands.

With how well Reddick has been doing in Philly with a change of scenery you would think that would lead some Panthers fans to step back and assess this a little more. Two firsts sounds good but it's easier said than done to hit on those two picks. Right now I am leaning keep Burns and put a real pass rusher opposite of him.

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
