I'm mentally preparing for a few head scratchers this offseason.  We've been getting used to them, they will likely continue.

I like the idea ...hell I like the man. BUT I think we need all new everything... staff included... it's only a few coaches I'd like to retain...

Al H., Tabor, Campen, and even Wilks. Basically every assistant we knew would be worth a damn when they were hired (minus McAdoo). Get rid of the Baylor staff and get a new OC in here. I think if he's retained he'll likely keep everyone in the building. Unless they decide to leave for Nebraska.

That said, after the turmoil in the building, losing your best player and a constant QB carousel, with a 8 or 9 win record he should be given a 1 year contract imo.

Rhule led us to 11 wins in 3 years...

Wilks is @ 3 and will most likely hit half(at minimum), of Rhule's total in 3/4 of one year. We'll see.

The Bengals game was a complete embarrassment. Rhule won 3 in a row with Darnold. How much do you want to bet Wilks won’t do the same?

Seriously, all I see is another Fox/Rivera that wants to run the ball to shorten the game and try to make it close enough to win. Conservative defensive minded coaches are boring and becoming a thing of the past.

Nothing boring about winning.

I'd be perfectly happy going 20-0 and scoring only 40 pts for the whole year.

    • It doesn't work that way sir. You cannot create a thread expect logical honest discussion and then pick and choose which of his 32 career starts you want to evaluate his entire body of work on. 2023 his YPA was 5.5 For 2025 so far his ypa is 5.4. 5.8 is the average and that is being kind if I'm being honest.
    • Somewhat OT - This franchise forgot what it felt like to have an elite talent on defense that helped create the whole unit's je nes sais quoi.   Moehrig hasn't shown it yet.   Horn doesn't give me that; he's a top 10-CB at his best, but I don't get the sense he's this guy who just elevates the unit.  Same goes with DB.  All seem like strong assets moving forward, but it shows with our defensive output being sh*t.   You need at least 2 of those tenacious vocal leaders and captains.  It is MIA entirely from defense (although I think Princely and Ransom are interesting) I know you need the talent, but they just don't seem to elevate around them much.
    • Bryce's best season is still Billy Joe Tolliver.  You can't remove everything but his best games and not do the same thing to everyone you're comparing him against. Isn't this getting out of hand?  Why can't we just accept what we've seen for 30 something games?
