Matt Rhule: “I wish I never took the job”

Man i dont even want to waste more energy on this guy. So if it's working- I was the reason and if its not- they did it/im not part of that.........that is very telling....

His QB decisions-

Cut Cam who only had one year @ 19

Sign PJ walker

Sign Teddy 2 gloves to a insane 3 63 million deal

Trade Teddy thus giving him 30 for 1 year

Force a trade of now 3 and future 2, 4 for Sam Darnold....

Give Sam the 5th year 19mill ok

Bring back broken Cam for less than half the season for 6 mill

Trade a now 4th and future 3rd for Corral

Trade a 4/5 for Baker and pay him 7 mill

Minus Corral(whos tbd) each choice was wrong. Sure they came close to Stanford, who could have been using the panthers for more reasons to go to LA.

Plus guess what Rhule if you sign on for some 7, 6, or 5 year "build" and you still have not figured out how to win close games 5 games into year 3......why do you need the other 2.7 years if you failed the show something in the first 2?

Finally fug you Teppper, this is on YOUR head.

Did you seriously not know that winning in the first couple years is important?

You thought it was ok to lose and keep losing because you have a 5 year plan?

Have mercy.

I can assure Fatt Fhule that Panthers fans would be faster to get to the Way-Back Machine to make that happen than he would.

I've said it before but anytime I think of this unaccountable snake - I think of what Mike tells Carlo at the end of The Godfather....
"Only don't tell me you're innocent. Because it insults my intelligence and makes me very angry."

Yet he CHOOSES to continue to insult our intelligence. Have fun in Nebraska - better watch your cornhole if the losing brand follows you out there (it will).

The question came up a couple of times with Rhule: Is he lying or does he genuinely believe his own bullsh-t?

The more I hear him talk, the more I think it's the latter.

He started off his time at Carolina with a HUGE lie on Day One.

I normally would expect the team to keep quiet about stuff like this, and they probably will.

But man, If I were in their spot it would be hard not to issue a few...rebuttals.

(especially David Tepper given that this is kind of a slap in his face)

He's said all he needs to say by firing him early in his third season. No need to get into a public war or words.

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
