Seems suspicious. Maybe we have some backdoor deal with San Fran.

If they pick him up, let the conspiracy theories begin.

Your assumption could  very well be correct. The waiver wire order is set by reverse league standings after Monday Night Football.

With the 49ers at 8-4 and in first place in the NFC West, all but four teams will have a chance at claiming Mayfield before they could.

Any team that claims Mayfield would owe him a prorated $1.3 million.

Sounds like Baker requested the move and we obliged. I wouldn't assume Wilks dislikes him, but Darnold does seem better in limited action so far.

Kind of a classy move by Wilks/Fitts if you ask me. Baker wasn’t getting anymore snaps and requested a release, so they gave it to him.

People in here really watched 7 games of Baker Mayfield this season and tried to argue Sam Darnold is worse.

Last 6 starts

QB A: 56%, 196 yard avg, 4 TDs, 6 INTs, 1 FL, 1 rush TD

QB B: 57%, 167 yard avg, 3 TDs, 5 INTs, 2 FL, 1 rush TD

* omits Bakers Cincy work and Sams TB work where they came off bench.  Last 7 games they played in would have aided Baker's numbers and hurt Sam.

Sam Darnold is dog poo.  Don't let Baker being dog poo skew that.

Top two on the podium!!!

Sam could make it a sweep!!

True, but I don't think that will happen...unless Sam gets the yips back.  When Sam is playing confidently, he's actually an okay QB.  Once he starts doubting himself though, his play turns into a dumpster fire full of paper and gasoline.

No, he definitely isn't.

I doubt it happens because the coaching staff knows they need to keep the ball out of his hands as much as possible.
