David Tepper and the Carolina Panthers: The Rhules of Engagement.

Yeah, I think there were some early voices rattling the "This is all Tepper's fault" saber. I know I was firmly on that bandwagon after Rhule didn't get dismissed in the offseason, which is where most of us jumped on board.

If he doesn't pull up from this nosedive in the offseason with a quality hire, this franchise will actually get worse. Mark my words, that is more than possible.

Tepper needs to take a giant step back from his hands on BS. The fact we were going so hard for Watson this offseason just shows how on the edge of the cliff to worse we still are as a team.

I'm still hoping for a consultant to be brought in to hold his hand. I just don't know how much failure it takes to make him realize that. I'm really not impressed with the people he brought into the front office at this point.

The Carolina Panthers are a hot mess. Even glancing at them for a few seconds this season can show you that. However, going after a few low blows against an irrelevant and dead franchise is too easy. We have to go deeper (like a few inches deeper): We have to look at new owner David Tepper's reign.

Brutal but deserved. Ra-Ra homers need a reality check about the state of this franchise. They cope saying that "well Washington/Jax has worse owners!!!!!" as if that means absolutely anything.

Good video. The Jed York piece is spot on.... these guys come in like hot shots and then get grounded real fast. How they respond to that is what really matters.... I dont get the vibe of a Jerry Jones or Daniel Snyder... but these next few years are realy going to tell us if Tepper is the hotshot owner who got humbled, or is he a stubborn son of a bitch that just wont know how to run a football team.

Right now, my money is on the former.... mainly because of the things he said during his presser. There was a lot of admitting to his short comings and things he has learned.

The whole rock hill thing, both sides are at fault.. and in all honesty... thats the business people doing business things ... i could care less about that IF im trying to judge him as a football team owner. If I am trying to judge him as a business leader... I have a lot more research to do before im come out blasting.

That’s a shame. Guy makes good content. One of my favorite sports YouTubers.

FlemLo Raps is good too if anybody hasn't seen his stuff.  He has a fair amount of Panthers content too.

e: his Rae Carruth deep dive is gutwrenching but excellent

    • This is about getting open and YAC....and the QB we have.  You basically are just highlighting average depth when targeted vs 2 players. .  And yeah, I often say AT is a small slow reliable TE in terms of what he does for us.   That's what he is.   I think a couple of you want to make this into a Renfrow argument.   I'm a Renfrow fan.  Renfrow does not check the box of what a BY O needs either at the slot.  Renfrow just a niche roleplayer at this level.  it's easy to look up how horrific AT is with the ball in his hands and in terms of getting open.....and it's also easy to look up what a low ceiling of an offense the steady AT diet produces w/ BY.
    • The one time he's actively tried to lose was the best we've ever done.
    • I simply acknowledge BY is the QB.  And just like we did when we drafted him.....the type O you would need to setup around him for success was always pretty simple.  But we have done virtually the opposite.  XL dropping some passes isn't why we were ranked the 32nd O and 30th passing the past 2 years.  *Ricky Prohel was brought up only in regards to role function he served on the team.  Niche/specialist.   He wasn't eating up the snaps in the O.    AT should have a similar snap %. People could MAUL Ricky Prohel and put hands all over him.   We got to the Super Bowl in part because we were mauling guys (our slot CB).   You can't do that now.  AT has a MUCH easier life and still can't get open.  Or run.    If you live in 3 WR sets, with a weak armed QB, and you choose to put someone who can't get open or run in the slot.......well, your are going to have a weak pass O.  That's by design IMO.
