Why is the ref'ing so piss poor in the NFL?

Entertainment business. That's all the NFL is. They can script games however they choose. It can't be egregious enough to cost Vegas, but steering the outcome, totally within the realm of possibility and we've pretty well seen it on a regular basis.

I’m glad we lost to Cleveland. Rhule would have lasted a lot longer if we had pulled that one out.

Kind of crazy to think in hindsight. Baker would probably still be our QB as well.

And holy crap! Just thinking about Rhule still being here makes me sick.

Honestly so many threads about the refs makes us seem like a weak franchise and fan base....  Bad calls happen for all teams...

1. If bad calls happen for all teams, you must admit every fanbase complains about it.

2. As far as marketability, this is a weak franchise.

3. SB 50. Need I say more?

4. 2001 SB, where a team called the “Patriots” won after 9/11.

5. Get your head out of your ass.

Is this game really not going to be flexed? It could be Tom Bradys last meaningful game he plays. Of course if the NFL is planning on rigging this game (I'm sure they will try) they probably don't look at it like that.

Now if we beat the Bucs and the Saints somehow beat the Eagles next week's game should definitely be a prime time game in a winner takes all match for the South.

If we beat the Bucs and lose to the Saints who is getting in if the Saints lose to the Eagles this week if we end up with the same record?

Most of them have high end jobs, and this is a part time thing for them. They are fully invested throughout the year.

On a side note, the fix could also be in for Tampa, to align a Winner Take All game next week against the Saints. Could be Boger is at the Philly/Saints game.

    • I'm not to sure it's a solid argument to try to estimate what he will do this season, BUT he's had a solid 3 years in the league. Here's his numbers compared to Jewell's for the same time period. I can see the logic of getting a starting MLB for a (at best) WR4. AT, XL and Tmac are certainly our top 3 guys IN 2025. Certainly worth pondering.
    • Training camp just started and it's already starting... https://www.facebook.com/reel/24277303321904901/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v LOL No one believes you and you have fan pages sharing this with a "Play him or trade him" headline. Oh wee mayne. This is why no front offices wanted any part of this.
    • Honestly, it only makes sense if you're trying to chase being the best bad team you can be this year. The number one question we need answered this season is whether or not Bryce is our long-term franchise QB. Trading away a second year WR who was second on the team in catch percentage, first in yards per target, and who clearly outplayed your 1st round pick for a likely one year rental fill in LB is exactly the type of short sighted desperation moves that has made us the worst franchise in the league under Tepper. We gotta stop making these types of moves and just focus on building a good organization and a good roster. Lloyd is a JAG LB another bad team and awful defense is wavering on and a couple of Panthers fans are salivating over him. Oof. We just need to be patient and wait. Definitely make some calls around the league to teams deep at LB and see if there's an opportunity to add one for a late round pick. Definitely shop the waiver wire hard. The reality is that LB is almost certainly going to be a weakness for us this year. We weren't fixing our entire roster in one off-season and we're not fixing an overall weak positional group in late July.  If you trade for Lloyd LB is still a weakness and you've given up a young promising WR who could potentially help you answer the question of whether or not Bryce is that guy. That's bad football business.
