And waste yet another pick. We already have Corral with a 3rd and 4th round pick. Those would be wasted as would the picks we gave up for Darnold. The picks for Teddy and Baker are already a loss. Then you draft yet another guy? To presumably replace a guy playing like a Top 3 pick in his 5th year?

5 years in NFL life used to be nothing for a QB. Darnold played for ADAM GASE and MATT RHULE, two of the four worst coaches of the past 10 years in the NFL.

You draft Mayer and Hyatt to give you a true superstar tight end and 3rd receiver who can get DJ Moore one on one coverages and go with Darnold and Corral.

      He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.

      Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.

      Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
