So which QB do we think will be available at #9?

Fields has played in 27 games and been available for more.

Horn has been available for 16 games and played in 16

Those aren't the same.  A season is 17 games.  Horn has yet to suit up for a season worth of games over 2 years.

and it's an old wives' tale that a QB shouldn't and can't run.   He is young with horrible weapons.  If you put him in a good position, he could run less.  It's not a Fields problem.  That's a Chicago problem.  And the more time he gets the smarter he will run.   But running isn't a problem.  It's a positive.

Given that we basically were knocked out of the playoffs by giving up 3 long passes to Mike Evans should have clued you in to the fact we need a shutdown corner.  Horn is a shutdown corner.  He was the right pick.  Getting hurt in tackle football is just bad luck.

seattle and detroit most certainly do not need qbs

Indy houston and maybe vegas depending on brady probably do

Geno Smith needs to be paid and Jared Goff isn’t a good enough reason to pass up on a QB if there’s one you like.

Both of these teams are only picking this high due to La and Denver. This might be their best chance to land a QB without having to trade anything

pretty sure NFL defenses all over the league routinely stop Mike Evans from doing that 3 straight times without a "shutdown" corner.

Horn being the right pick or not has to do with the where the rest of your org is.   It's like the Jags drafting the best DB of the decade in Jalen Ramsey and it being meaningless for them.   Jalen was a great player.  Not the pick the Jags needed.   Ramsey could shutdown anyone.  But they had too many holes for it to matter.  And Horn isn't Ramsey.

I feel like Smith and Goff are both better options than Levis.  (Stroud and Young will go to Indy and Houston).  Especially if you could use the pick for a stud in another place of need.  Imagine adding Quentin Johnson to Detroit or adding Myles Murphy to Seattle.

So Fields has missed almost 25% of games each season?  Why are you defending a QB missing that many games?

Fields has been available 82% of the time

Horn has been available 47% of the time

Fields missed 2 games this season.  Started 15 out of 17.

Maybe the fact the Bears are horrific on offense around him has more to do with him missing some games than the fact he runs.   Why are you bringing up Fields availability when Horn is the guy we picked over him?  A less impactful position that has barely seen the field in comparison to Fields.

Not so hot take that some might pretend is.....2 years in, Jeff Otah was a better pick for us than Horn has been for us.  Otah was dominant and was available 81% of the time.  Significantly more than Horn.

Richardson is there at 9. Levis probably is too. Tanner McKee will be there in the 2nd.

Every year we go through the same song and dance about how many QBs will be gone before we pick.

Last year the Lions were gonna take a QB at 2 and if wanted Willis we'd have to take him at 6 because there's nooooo way he'd fall out of the 1st because he has too much raw physical potential.

The year before there were talks Mac Jones at 3 and 5 QBs going in the first 6 picks and we'd never get Fields, Lance or Mac.

3 months ago this was one of the weakest QB class we've seen with no consensus number 1 and now we're wondering what we're going to do with 6 QBs going before pick 9?

Sam Darnold. We’re not going to get a QB without trading up. I said not drafting Justin Fields set this team back a decade and I stand by it until they correct their mistakes.

Sorry, where did the Justin Fields led Bears finish again?

The top tweet is the start of the thread, there's several tweets though that make a compelling case the Bears should start over at QB however.

Over on the Bears message board they are a making a good case that the current regimen was not the regimen who drafted Fields. If they fall in love with Young or Stroud this draft season... Fields could be moved on from or turned in an Athlete Positional Player.

Going to be interesting to see what they do. How about the Steelers getting the first pick of the 2nd round for Claypool? What a trade....

Neither has Fields.... we would be saying this exact same thing if Fields was on our roster.... Fields wasnt a freak injury like Horn's injury. Fields has been injured bc he isnt built for the type of football he is trying to play.

My god this message board would be eating fields alive right now if he had thrown for less than 1200 yards in his second season and never played a full season. Which is what has happened in Chicago this year.

Fields has gone over a seasons worth of games.

    • Wow. Florida two years in a row heading to the ECF. Great goalie play in Bob and scoring.  We had a better team but were worse in goal.  We owned them in the regular season. Just shows what elite goalie play looks like.     bob vs Igor.  At what point does rod just roll with Koochie.  This is our future being fuged over by stubborn rod.
    • I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Cousins' Achilles rehab isn't going great because the Penix pick honestly felt like a panic move. But then again, the Packers have probably had the best QB play in the NFL over the past 30 years with Favre and then Rodgers and now Love showed great promise last year. They didn't need a QB when they drafted both Rodgers and Love and both guys sat for multiple years. The strategy has been working. Maybe the Falcons are trying to recreate that?
    • First off...you missed the point of what I said. All I said was the offense could be setup to not have to rely on bryce in the same manner as other qbs if its working. And Yes the rest aren't proven commodities but NEITHER is bryce so I don't understand what you are getting at there. Lastly what is with this questioning of if bryce is liked? Liked how? Personal or football? See thats the problem with fans like you, you are so invested in a individual you respond to any critsicm with "do you like him". My opinion on bryce is strictly football....I DONT KNOW BRYCE PERSONALLY so I don't have anything against him in that regard. Far as football I said from the start I didn't see him as a top nfl Qb and he hasn't shown me anything so far to say I was wrong so based off your question...no. Just like everybody else on here, it's strictly football. Asking if he is liked in that regard, it's clearly no. He hasn't shown enough to be liked on the field.
