An outstanding job would have been playing aggressive vs the Bucs in a game that decided the NFC South, not settling for punts and squandering a lead.

Also the whole supposedly being a defensive coach and letting them burn us for 3 huge touchdowns running the same play over and over without helping adjust.

Turner has been saddled with poo QBs his entire tenure as an OC:

  • 1 rookie 5th round pick Sam Howell

He's coached 54 games as an OC and never once had a true NFL starting QB.

You might wanna be prepared for some poo emojis and angry responses 😄

He has coached offense before.  Depends on his plan for offensive coaching.  Apparently he is impressive.

Thanks for the heads up.  Hadn't looked heavily into him but man, he's interesting for sure.

Worked with Fangio as DQC in San Fran early 2010s (Also w/ST, WRs); then with McVay as a Defensive coach & passing game coordinator.

Now had a really damn good defense.  This guy looks pretty legit.

If I'm recalling correctly, realized that the Fangio interview was shortly after the Evero one.  He has direct ties to both him and Steichen.

Fangio being our old DC, and directly tied with a few of these candidates.  Makes sense why we chatted with him.  I love the idea of him coming back.

Check my username - I'm a UNC alum and fan lol. I like Howell and think he could end up carving a niche in the league as a high level back up, potentially a decent starter, but he's got 1 start in the league. I don't think he's a "poo QB", I meant more he's super inexperienced and Turner only coached him for one game. I'm hoping he develops into a starting NFL QB, better for UNC recruiting 🙂

I get it...but I don't necessarily think it'll save you from the wrath of other UNC folk 😄

I was wondering why, if he's so great, that the Broncos didn't just promote him to HC and keep him in house. Turns out he turned down the Interim offer. Smart guy. That place is going to be a dumpster fire for the remainder of Wilson's contract.

    • And that makes you right.
    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
