Exactly. I wouldn’t be opposed to Wilks if I knew he wouldn’t torture us with Al Holcombe like Rivera did with Eric Washington.

Eric Washingtons play calling makes Al Holcomb look good. Dude dropped 350+ pound dontri poe into a zone and send one of the best coverage linebackers ever to blitz into a triple team.

translation: Demeco Ryans will NOT circle back to interview the Panthers

More like Translation: Everyone knows Ryans is going to the Texans

It just makes too much sense, they got hit hard in the media for hiring black HC's who they subsequently fired after giving them only one season.  On top of all the Watson stuff they had to deal with, looking at a minority hire always made sense for them if there was a good fit as it helps them from a PR standpoint.

Add in that he's one of the better players in franchise history and it just seems like it's too obvious of a fit for both sides that it is bound to happen.

Like I said, don't give him a choice. New coordinators if you want the job.

Looks like that's what we want to do with prospective new offensive minded coaches...choose their DC for them. it shouldn't be a problem for Wilks anymore than it would be for those other guys to have coordinators chosen for them. after rhule insisting on his college crew come with him, i think that we have more than enough reason to be skeptical and even a bit controlling of an HC wanting his own crew.

Get the best coordinators possible, not necessarily the ones that the HC feels most comfortable with.

I do think for Ryans it's Houston or bust (aka staying on as DC in SF for another year). He pulled himself out of consideration for the Colts and Cardinals jobs. Denver is reportedly looking to hire someone with previous HC experience (Quinn or Payton) given they they've flamed out with 3 straight coordinator hires.

I still think Evero has a shot

I'll be very angry if this happens, but nothing against that guy.

It will have everything to do with us not even interviewing 2 of my personal top candidates who are DC's, one being Ryans which I detailed above, but the other being Quinn.

If we hire a young DC with no HC experience without even interviewing Quinn, it would very much upset me, particularly with Tepper having said he would like someone with previous HC experience early in the process.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
