Why is mediocrity so attractive?

I'm sure Fitterer prefers to find and make a coach.

Nothing in the past says that they shouldn't hand the keys over to an experienced regime.

Fitty, Tepper and your plan to make a head coach like you did Rhule, cease and settle!

Hire a professional head coach, we're already too far behind and the fan base and the NFCS need to know the Panthers now mean business and are not taking prisoners.

Fitty trying to feel like he's earned his check banking on a OC experiment possibly to the detriment of the franchise record and status?! Mistake. Can't afford it. Let's put the franchise back together, experiment later.

I agreed until there and I fell off the track. One of the best coaches anywhere in football Mr. Jim Harbaugh had the Panthers as 1a,b if he was to leave Michigan. I think it's funny people act like we can't do worse then Wilks, we can and already did with Rhule. People say try something different like we didn't just get out of a 2 1/2yr hell with Mr "the way of the Panther"guy. Dude came in and tried to remove all history this team had.

I'm a Wilks guy, all I'm saying is why not give him a shot? Look no farther then LV they got the new toy after there temp guy got them to play better and he was the hot OC but forgot that just because you can call plays don't mean you can run a whole team.

Oh no not a RR 2.0 the winningest coach in Panther history, I would take 4 NFCS titles and a SB run over always chasing the new shiny new toy. Also RR got to as many SBs as S. Payton. (Sucks the NFL didn't want us to win one) just my two cent

Nothing Wilks did was " amazing"

He is a bottom tier NFL coach. It only appears like he did something great because Rhule was at best an OL assistant coach at the NFL level. 

If we dont hire Wilks no one else is either, hes not even getting a interview unless its to satisfy the rooney rule, the dude is not a NFL HC.

Matt Rhule got a bunch of interest and interviews. That means either he's a bonafide NFL head coach, or -- hear me out -- the NFL's shittiest front offices can't spot talent so they make a get-rich-quick scheme of a hire.

This whole idea that we will be mediocre under Wilkes was manufactured by the huddle and now accepted as fact. Wilkes was conservative but was that by design or necessity? Did we run because it was our strength or because our qbs sucked throwing it and our line struggled in pass blocking early? What would he do if he had a great OC and a staff he picked. If he could build a team his way what would it be,? If he turned Rhules misfits into a competent team with half a staff, key injuries defensively, and a revolving door of quarterbacks and still go 6-6, I would let you have 2 years to complete the turnaround. Even a new coach would need a year or two to turn things around and would want a 5 year contract. It isn't mediocre it is the best route to a winning season next year.

I have been impressed with Steichen as well and am now feeling he would be worth taking a chance on. We took a chance with Rhule and it turned out awful but Steichen has pro experience with success and could be the piece of the puzzle we need of we can combine him with a very solid QB

People want the shiny new coach who has a great roster. Not realizing that roster wont be coming with him to Carolina.

 

What we know about Wilks is he can take a average QB and go .500

 

Who's to say he can't improve with a better QB?

 

Be careful what you wish for people. Those coaches look good because they also have a loaded roster. We don't have that in Carolina. Just sayin...
