So your solution is to sign anyone that will sign right away?

I'm sure that when they become available or decide to sign with us they will. It's more important to get the right coordinators the than to just get someone quickly.

Of course they would like to get them on board as soon as possible. I guess you could put a gun to their had an force them to sign immediately.

Sheesh man this stuff takes time to iron out. There's a lot of staff left to hire. You man want to take a Xanax before you lose your sh!t.

One coach is out of the running, Fangio.  It's not like they tore up their entire interview list because one candidate took another gig.  Reich likely has either strong or loose connections with all these guys. It's not like they need their arm twisted to take this job.  Fangio was probably the hottest DC prospect available...he knew that and drove up his asking price which netted him the top paid DC in the League and South Beach.  Smart man.

Not every other candidate will be, or frankly can be as selective.  DC will happen this week and I wouldn't be shocked if OC is named shortly after.

This is proven with recites. Johnny Rockets proved it years ago at our tailgate vs Dallas. We walked around asking cowboys fans simple questions bout their team…..95% had no clue and couldn’t give an answer.

Johnny Rockets...name form the past.  Anyone seen him around here lately?

He was available for less than 24 hours.

No idea why we passed over him as the HC.

I'm not sure who Moore would bring with him staff wise and I think that scared Tepper considering what happened with Matt Rhule's staff. Reich is about as polar opposite as you can get from Matt Rhule. While Rhule's staff was maybe the least professionally experienced coaching staff in the history of the NFL. Reich's staff will be full of coaches with tons of NFL experience. Because Reich has been around the NFL for a long time, there's a lot of coaches he is familiar with.

Kellen Moore's staff, who knows. Maybe Fangio's interest cooled off earlier than we realized and that nudged the decision towards Reich. I have a feeling if Fangio was on board, they might have rolled the dice with Moore. Fangio might not have wanted to work with Reich since he's an older more experienced coach as well. Fangio would have had influence over someone like Kellen Moore but maybe not Reich who is set in his ways. Who knows. But I think it came down to the staff.

    • He didn't actually make the playoffs. We had several opportunities to clinch on our own and crapped the bed. We had to wait for Atlanta to win to get us in. We had the tie breaker in a poo division that had 3 teams finish 8-9.  If you go back and look at the games we played, we weren't a dominant offensive team under him as an OC. We beat the Jets 13-7 and barely beat the packers after they failed to convert multiple red zone trips. We relied heavily on converting 4th downs. DC was also extremely slow at recognizing trends in game and was really lacking with clock management.  Was there progress this year? Yes. But most of it was on the defensive side of the ball. Our offense was stagnant with a couple of exceptions. Any improvement from Bryce was minimal and he kept insisting on XL over Coker, and even RB distribution instead of going with the hot hand.  He may be building something, but I don't think we've seen enough to know what that is. It could go either direction. If he insists on being OC, then without a noticeable improvement, yes he needs to be on the hot seat like any OC would. The more jobs you take on the more you have to be judged on. I think he would have a longer leash if he hired a true OC and just focused in being HC.
    • zero percent suprised Luke is a nice guy irl, have never heard anything differently from anyone that's met him.  I have heard mixed reports on Smitty I know one guy on here got to know Deangelo Williams and J stew pretty well back in the day when they used to host events and he said they were nice iirc  I can't imagine Jordan gross is a bad hang, he's hilarious
