Report: Panthers' diverse hires partially motivated by compensation rules

Reality is those rules factor into the decision making, for every single team. When weighing pros and cons between a few candidates there is no doubt potential compensation for minorities getting hired away from your team IS a pro and goes into that column. Whether people like it or not. I'm extremely happy with our staff hires, regardless of their races.

Future draft picks are just a bonus, I really think we got the best coaches that will fit in with Reich's plans. If, at any time those potential draft picks factored into the decision making process, then the Rooney Rule iss working just as designed and that's a very good thing.

What we did receive, taking race completely out of the picture, are two young, innovative, learned, motivated coordinators who are very, very likely to become head coaches on their own in the near future. Guys like that will win you a lot of games and perhaps a trophy or two before they move on. And they'll leave a great legacy behind them -- both in our team and for the trails they will blaze.

On first glance, this is an incredibly diverse staff in Carolina. On a second and deeper glance, this is a very well put together coaching staff at all levels and I really think we'll see the proof on the field very soon.

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
