I didn't watch the combine today but based on the majority of comments it's basically Stroud/AR/Young are in the same tier and a lot of people said Levis was a tier below that top 3 group.

It really is hard to say with those three--I can see all three QBs atop a lot of boards---Levis just rubbed me the wrong way today.  He is nothing special.

Here is what we all know---

  • We are tired of retreads and attempting to save QBs from the bust bin.
  • We have a top-notch staff, ready to complete NOW
  • We have been very aggressive so far (which seems to be an indication that Tepper has finally lost his patience, a good thing)
  • We will be drafting a QB, and we will be aggressive.  No top QB will be there at #9, so we will be moving up.
  • How far are we moving up?  The CMC trade was made so we'd have draft capital to move up for a QB.  We will also give up next year's first rounder for a QB---if we like a guy.  We are going to trade with the Bears or the Cardinals, depending on how many QBs we like.

Same…just go out and throw no need to make the cannon comment.

He appears cocky to me. There is a difference in being confident and almost arrogant. He did not move the needle for me. Having said that, the Panthers will probably draft him now.

The only thing that changed yesterday is that Bryce Young hurt himself by not throwing.  He left open the opportunity for CJ Stroud to take the number 1 spot. Anthony Richardson helped himself get noticed and may have moved himself into the top 10.  For the others nothing changed.

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
