Those franchises had the right idea just executed wrong. They could have drafted Mahomes or Fields in throes scenarios and been far better off.

That’d why it’s important you get your guy and you are right.

The team that traded up for Trubiskey also traded up for Fields. And have the #1 pick this year. So, like a lot of folks here, they only act like they know anything.

Chose 9 because the option to trade down wasn't there. Would rather get Hooker or McKee in rd2 and get more picks.

The Panthers did show some interest in Hooker early on and my guess is he will be drafted higher than most expect, just not sure it will be by the Panthers.

Age and how late the injury happened is working against Hooker at this point..

Was Sean Gilbert a can't miss prospect that dominated college football or something?

I was too young to remember, but this was considered one of the worst trades we ever made.

Gilbert was a Vet DT from the Commanders.. So the analogy doesn’t exactly fit..

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
