I’m good with AR15 at 1. You can’t teach the skills he already has. Our coaching staff can mold him into a great Qb. I love stroud but was it him or all the amazing receivers he played with at OSU?

Yup, all these QBs have questions and why I don't think the staff is solidly sold on just  one of them.

AR-Raw

Stroud- Star on a team of stars (how much was really him?)

Young-Size, the lock of

Levis- Accuracy and pocket presence issues

Keeping our name tied to AR15 is strictly strategical. Stroud is worlds ahead of this guy. If the Texans want AR15 and are afraid we'll take him, we could possibly use this to our advantage to trade back a spot... because no way on God's green earth does anyone think AR15 is better than Stroud.

By that logic, why would the Texans want Anthony Richardson?

Exactly what are "quarterback skills"? I love how we just make up rules. Almost like being able to actually run and escape the pocket doesn't require any skill at all. It's giving me Giannis doesn't have skills vibes.

Passing accuracy, processing speed, football intelligence, and pocket presence are things that make a great quarterback at the NFL level.

Running ability is a "nice to have" but it's not an essential.

CJ Stroud has the quarterbacking skills already. That's why he's a far superior candidate to Richardson.

These people sound like a fickled, grade school girl that has lots of boys to chose from as a special boyfriend  but can't make up her mind on the choice.

To be fair, I am sure they have their favorite. I think they are seeing what they could get back for number 1 if they have enough condition that Levis or Richardson can be the guy.

Trading up to #1 to draft Richardson would terrify me and I'm a big proponent of AR's talent. You can make a very compelling argument he's the most talented QB prospect ever. He was my guy at #9 of he was available.

AR is going to get people fired. People are going to get fired for drafting him if he's a bust and people are going to get fired for passing on him if he's a hit.

I do think there are question marks with all of these QB's, so it's a major gamble.

Tepper is a hedge fund manager, aggressive and a gambler by nature. His impatience has not served the franchise well so far though.

As a Panthers fan, I'm not holding my breath. The skill set of CJ Stroud is tantalizing, however. I think he's the pick.

    • Who were we going to trade up with? The Dolphins wanted Proctor, the Rams were vehement on taking Ty Simpson, the Ravens wanted Ioane, and the Bucs werent trading with us except for maybe a kings ransom. Even if we wanted to move, we had no partner. Moot point.
    • Devin Lloyd is a stud lb but who is next to him? Prince and Nic should improve. Lee was super value but i am not counting this fourth round chicken yet. I would expect some improvement; hope to eat my words w/ a top ten D.
    • I mean I agree about diminished Cam probably still being viable. Even though it gave a preview of how teams would defend the pass against a limited QB. There was an issue with the upcoming contract he was due to get and his expectations vs the new reality of his physical status - that people tend to  overlook when looking back on it  It had an effect on things I believe   But I do have to ask… what about Tepper’s second major move? fuging clueless   I mean I would take even an injured  Cam over Bryce all day long.
