Are the Panthers unsure of who their #1 is or is it just a smokescreen…

We know who we want, and that's why we moved up to one. Sure, they're going to play games to see if they can parlay something from nothing, because in the end it's all about value. But we know who we want. All the workouts and pro days aren't going to amount to a hill of beans. Extensive research on these guys has already been done. Our guys are experienced enough that they aren't going to be Zach-Wilsoned.

I think keeping it a mystery is just a good business decision. Speculation keeps the Panthers in the news. I also think it's better for the league overall to keep it a mystery. The draft is dimished if the first pick is confirmed by the team making it.

Stroud covers every criteria for a #1 overall QB. He has 0 questions... nothing over durability, nothing over height, nothing over mechanics, nothing over character. Everyone else has AT LEAST 1 question, whether it be height or proper mechanics, etc.

If it's not Stroud, we're wrong.

Agreed. His only concern is the track record of previous Ohio State QBs being bad. Which is a ridiculous concern considering none of that is relevant to who he is as a player. Before Mahomes there was never a successful Texas Tech QB in the NFL.

Young would also be a worthy 1st overall pick but the size concerns are enough for me to have Stroud as my clear #1.

Will Levis sucks. Not even a top-4 QB in this draft.

I found it interesting that Ryan Leaf had Stroud and Young as first rounders with Richardson and Levis as toolsy second rounders that you're doing no favours to if you draft them in the first.

    • Good, our ST is almost as bad as our ILB depth!
    • With two starters on expiring contracts (Moton + Corbett) as well as a few back-ups (Christensen, Mays, and Nijman), the Panthers are likely going to have to reinvest in the OL after this coming season. Icky's fifth-year option was picked up by the team this offseason while Lewis and Hunt both remain under contract then (though Lewis' deal is set-up in a way that would let Carolina move on from him then as well). I think that the team is going to be looking at investing a premium pick at RT should Bryce's development continue, and might even look to double dip at the position in order to have a swing tackle that can also kick inside when needed. There's also the question of starting center... Prospects I'm watching this upcoming college season... Centers Jake Slaughter (Florida) Iapani Laloulu (Oregon) Connor Lew (Auburn) Logan Jones (Iowa) Parker Brailsford (Alabama) Connor Tollison (Missouri) Bryce Foster (Kentucky) Pat Coogan Notre Dame) Raheem Anderson (Michigan) Carson Hinzman (Ohio State) RTs Francis Mauigoa (Miami) Kadyn Proctor (Alabama) Spencer Fano (Utah) Gennings Dunker (Iowa) Blake Miller (Clemson) Isaiah World (Oregon) Caleb Tiernan (Northwestern) Monroe Feeling (Georgia) Earnest Greene III (Georgia) Monroe Mills (Louisville) Charles Jagusah (Notre Dame) Tree Babalade (South Carolina) Trey Zuhn III (Texas A&M) Nolan Rucci (Penn State) Tristan Leigh (Clemson) Fernando Carmona (Arkansas) JC Davis (Illinois) Riley Mahlman (Wisconsin) PJ Williams (SMU) Tosh Baker (Notre Dame) Aki Ogunbiyi (Texas A&M) Courtland Ford (Kentucky) Ethan Onianwa (Rice)
    • I watched documentary on the 2010 Auburn season and Cam wasn’t included in that either. I think he just doesn’t care for these things
