Reich and Fitterer must want to be unemployed really quickly if they gave up the house for a guy who'd have been there at 7 or 9. That's also not mentioning his status as Josh Rosen 2.0.

Don't worry Levis is not the pick.

And Campbell was the QB's security blanket last year, Reich wanted him to learn every route tree(the swiss army knife) but the cuts he makes on corner routes, post -corner routes, curl route and comeback route, and the shadow cross routes, he creates so much separation from the defender, he's very tough to guard. His injuries are a concern which is why I think he's contract won't be to much, but pair him with Thielen, he could emerge like J.Jefferson or Diggs.

Reich always wanted Campbell to play more aggressive. With Smitty around, I believe he helped DJ in that regard, "Ice up son"

Same thought.  I then thought of the Colts' problems with QB, OL, etc.  The more I think of today--if they come away with Campbell, Hurst, and Theilen, we'd be OK--not perfect, but on a budget, I would say we have done well.

I would imagine Ryan didn't have enough time to throw him deep passes with that OL.

yeah could just be that but he also had 7 yard per catch in 2019 on a bigger sample size than 2020/2021 and the offense was actually really good that year if I'm remembering right

I admittedly haven't followed him at all or watched him much at all -- but glancing at stats how does a 4.3 dude average 10 yards per catch over his career? That's slow crappy possession guy numbers. Just Colts QB and offense being that bad? Most of the sample size is last year and the year before in very small sample size he averaged 16 which makes more sense.

His yards per target with 6.8 - that low for a WR and scheme dependent.  He averaged 3 yac, compared to much higher ypt and ypc in prior seasons.  I suspect it was OL and QB play that brought those numbers down.

His injury history and production (based partly on the QB situation in Indy--Rivers, Wentz, Ryan, etc.) are reasons that we could get a solid WR at a discount rate.

We have many holes to fill.  Funny how the focus was first defense, then offense.

Did anyone catch Ian Rappaports slip of the tongue while discussing the Panthers FA signings on nfl network? He said the Panthers new qb Will Levis.  The other guys said well done Ian! Nice slip of the tongue!

Ian Rappaport wouldn’t have any clue. Either he’s trolling, wishful thinking or drunk. Or some combo of the above.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
