That #2 and #12 would make things interesting. I don't see them passing that up. You still have your choice of Stroud/AR + the #12 pick.

Yeah it’s basically Stroud/AR and a top edge/corner/TE vs. Bryce.

Why did YGM have to suck lol. If he could pass rush at all…

1. Texans do like Bryce

2. Stroud WAS the favorite when we traded because everyone went right to the QB size Reich has had.

3. Fitterer Is open to trading back.     For the right price.   Just like he says he’s “in on every deal”. On every FA and Trade.  It’s why he’s said in the past he’s always open to taking calls for any player, but doesn’t mean he’s going to trade that guy.

4. Carolina is “rumored” to Bryce.  Bryce was the top prospect at QB in the draft all along,  and was always the favorite to go number 1 until the trade.  They may have been torn on a couple guys but after going around to the pro days and meeting with people.  Players start to separate which it seems and sounds Bryce has.   This isn’t just some bleacher report rumors.  We now have multiple local beat reporters hearing the exact same thing.

5. Texans were  never going to take a QB just to take one.  And there’s been rumors even back before the trade that Stroud wasn’t even the number 2 QB on their board.  They also have multiple 1st next year.

so you can go ahead and take the tin foil hat off.

How can beat writers know something the coach and gm still don't know...

If Williams looks great again that pick won’t be for sale.

An interesting wrinkle to the non-QBs in this draft is that the guy who read & called Caleb's offense to a tee, racked up 15+ tackles, and led his defense to a huge win over USC could be there at 93.  Not to mention the RB who helped that offense go toe to toe with USC.

Dorian Williams LB & Tyjae Spears RB

Most likely not but it really depends. A locked in franchise QB could go down early and that team could tank. I honestly think the Bills would be in contention for 1st overall pick next year if Allen went down week 1 or preseason. And they'd absolutely take the haul of picks and keep Allen.

Look at the word in the red circle

Cool

no one Knows anything until the card turned in.

Thats really every year.

But they have a strong idea.  They’ll just don’t know because the card officially hasn’t been turned in yet.

Maybe the GM and Coaches have an idea.  And really have come away with a clear leader of the pack.
Just because they haven’t sat down and said “yeah, that’s The guy”, and turn in the card.

Doesn’t mean they don’t have an idea or know.  And leak out some info.  Josh Klein pretty much spelled it out the other day too.  That the team wants info to get out before the draft, so their big party isn’t a big Bryce vs Stroud fight.

Ditto.  If that were offered, we could take Stroud and jsn and still have 39.  I don't know how they could pass that up.

I totally don't think it happens but I'd be very tempted in that one scenario.

Otherwise, I'm happy with young if that is the choice.  I feel like he has enormous potential.

Can you imagine how furious the Bears would be if we pulled that.

Yeah but gambling on a scenario like that to happen is pretty risky…

    • This is about getting open and YAC....and the QB we have.  You basically are just highlighting average depth when targeted vs 2 players. .  And yeah, I often say AT is a small slow reliable TE in terms of what he does for us.   That's what he is.   I think a couple of you want to make this into a Renfrow argument.   I'm a Renfrow fan.  Renfrow does not check the box of what a BY O needs either at the slot.  Renfrow just a niche roleplayer at this level.  it's easy to look up how horrific AT is with the ball in his hands and in terms of getting open.....and it's also easy to look up what a low ceiling of an offense the steady AT diet produces w/ BY.
    • The one time he's actively tried to lose was the best we've ever done.
    • I simply acknowledge BY is the QB.  And just like we did when we drafted him.....the type O you would need to setup around him for success was always pretty simple.  But we have done virtually the opposite.  XL dropping some passes isn't why we were ranked the 32nd O and 30th passing the past 2 years.  *Ricky Prohel was brought up only in regards to role function he served on the team.  Niche/specialist.   He wasn't eating up the snaps in the O.    AT should have a similar snap %. People could MAUL Ricky Prohel and put hands all over him.   We got to the Super Bowl in part because we were mauling guys (our slot CB).   You can't do that now.  AT has a MUCH easier life and still can't get open.  Or run.    If you live in 3 WR sets, with a weak armed QB, and you choose to put someone who can't get open or run in the slot.......well, your are going to have a weak pass O.  That's by design IMO.
