Rough day for the draft capital people 😆

Yep. But the day they pulled that deal off was worse. The destination was determined, this is them telling you what car they are buying for the trip.

I'd rather take Richardson that Young as far as it goes. I dunno. Can't wrap my head around trading all of that for a 5'10" college player.

Well the team did say they didn't want the back and forth between two guys going all the way until draft night. Still strange they even have Stroud and Levis bothering to roll into town at all.

It appears the Panthers have their man.  Congrats to Bryce.

However, there's still another week to go until the draft.

Hopefully, poo won't happen, but sometimes it happens anyway.

No, I just don’t think teams necessarily say that a lot when it doesn’t make sense to say it, and I don’t think it makes much sense for the Texans to say it to Young. There’s not really anything for them to gain from saying it. I doubt teams were having those conversations with Burrow when everybody knew he was going #1. And I think Jalen Carter is kind of a fool for doing what he did after a disastrous couple months and I don’t trust his judgment so I don’t think it’s a given at all that he has guarantees.

Drew Rosenhaus, Carter's agent, was the one who told teams he's not going because he has gotten those same assurances from several teams in the top 10 about where his floor is.

Me personally I wouldn't touch the kid with a 10 foot pole but it wasn't like Carter did this on his own.

What Drew told teams was, if you like him and want to meet him, trade into the top 10 and they're happy to go meet but hes not flying his guy out across the country to meet with teams picking in the 20s who have no shot of getting him. Says the players are humans and to be flown back and forth across the country with every team rehashing aspects of their life's its exhausting

Same applies to Young. Those talks happen. If not from Houston then from us because if they didn't- why else would he not keep visiting teams like the Colts at 4. And if we gave him an assurance then the Texans probably did too.

I mean, the guy knows for a fact that he's not falling past the Texans and he's already met with them, to me this really just means he doesn't feel like wasting his time on any more visits before the draft next week.

I'll admit it's all starting to look like it will be Young, but I still prefer we go Stroud, think he has a higher floor and I don't like Young's frame to hold up long term.

We just gotta win the SB in the next 3-5 years before as I don't think he'll hold up, but should be really good for as long as he is playing.

I'm probably 70/30 he's our pick at this point but he's met with the Texans as well.

This seems more like confirmation he isn't falling past 2 more than an indication he us assuredly going 1.

10 more days till we know for sure.

I tend to agree.

Weigh in. Throwing alongside the others at the combine, 40times.

Gamesmanship doesn't make up for all the rest of it. Good agents though, working it.

I hip with this. The kid sure likes things to go the way he wants them to. Don't weigh, don't run. I'mma do it my way. And we may wind up with this entitled little squirt.

    • Wow I can’t believe the panthers tried to trade up, failed, but still got the guy they wanted to trade up for. I wonder if anyone else has ever said that next you’ll tell me they had Hunter and Brazzell graded as first rounders.
    • I don’t think people are saying that picking up the option is a call for the pitchforks. We would have had to do things differently a couple of years back to make declining the option a valid move. We didn’t and here we are. People largely accept that. The pattern it adheres to, reinforces the nausea we feel when the idea of an extension, and at top of the market no less, comes up.  One that he hasn’t shown he deserves.   Same as he did not deserve to be drafted 1.1. Look at Pavia and what really is the difference? Bryce is a nice guy and Pavia is an asshole lol. They are both no margin for error non day one talents. One went undrafted.  Probably should have been drafted day three anyway. The other was way over drafted.
    • We hate losing. I don't know Bryce to hate him. His play as a QB, I absolutely hate. It's just not good enough. If there were a lottery held to select the order and all 32 starting QBs could be drafted as the starting QB for whatever team selected them, how long do you think it would be before Bryce's name was called? Top 10, top 20, bottom 8? Think about it.  For me, having never seen back to back games with franchise QB level performance in 3 years tells me what I need to know. We still need to be looking for our solution at QB.
