Speaking of Disney I heard on the radio today that Disney World might be coming to North Carolina. Nothing final but it's being considered as a real possibility.

My guess is somewhere out West with a lot of land would probably be the location. Asheville makes sense.

Nah Western NC would be too cold and the parks wouldn't be open (or busy enough to be open) in January and February.  Plus the land in WNC Especially the Asheville area is ridiculously overpriced compared to somewhere in the piedmont or eastern part of the state.

But it'll never happen. "Disney World" will never move out of central Florida.  The only thing that I could see ever happening would be a smaller regional park . Like they tried to build in Virginia in the 80s or 90s.

Or maybe their poor decisions are catching up with them.

Let's see for 2022 they posted $28.31 billion in gross profits, an increase of 27 percent over 2021, which was a tough year for everyone. But even during the pandemic shut down year of 2021, they still posted more than $22 billion in gross profits, a 3.6 percent increase from the previous year.

2020 did see a decline from 2019's gross profits dropping 21.92 percent, but still posting in$21.5 billion in gross profits for the year.

Not sure where you think there are some poor decisions they've been making. Heck, we should all be having such terrible luck.

Pat McAfee didn't start that trend buddy.

People been making millions off YT long before McAfee. Are you entertaining? Can you make content that people will watch?

If you have those skills you can make a living as your own brand. Content creators is what they are called.

ESPN/Fox debate shows are not even that anymore. These dudes are talking about off field topics a majority of the time. Crazy how times have changed. ESPN are trying to fit in to the new media. You now have their employees cussing on live air. ESPN is owned by Disney which is family/kid friendly. Billion dollar companies adjusting to the new media.

Pretty soon they will be hiring these content creators to generate more viewers and revenue. The odd guys out are the old people sadly. This is the new norm.

PMS didn’t start the trend but his style of content is what’s the new norm.

You’ve got ESPN now ‘breaking’ news that comes out on the PMS

Aaron Rodgers declared his ‘decision’ on their

his crew is amazing including getting Pac Man Jones.

ESPN already hired Pat. He's going to get a show pretty soon. They kicking the oldheads out for the new media guys.

Look at how they are hiring all these former and current NBA players. No longer is it about being a analyst. It's about who can be the most entertaining and get clicks. Sucks for the people who actually went to school for that now they have to lose their job because they aren't entertaining enough.

The moment PMS sells out to join ‘networks’ his show will take a nosedive. The minute you can’t drop F bombs and be authentic then you’ll turn into another robotic talking head.

I get the money he’d make but he has a STRONG list of sponsors and riding a 🚀, I wouldn’t risk that to join ESPN.

ESPN has been garbage for over a decade.  I would not even care if they ceased to exist because is stopped watching that channel over a decade ago. I have it blocked on my streaming package just to cut down on the channels I have to skip over. Good riddance.

This. I loved ESPN back in my younger days. My TV was on with ESPN playing in the background pretty much constantly during my college years. It was basically just SportsCenter and live sports. Then YouTube basically killed SportsCenter and ESPN evolved into live sports and shoes with morons just screaming at each other about things mildly sports related. Hell, half the time you try to watch a live sporting event on ESPN they're trying to do split screen graphics with their announcers or some idiotic stats or something.

Yeah, ESPN fuging sucks and the sports world and world at large would be better off if it just died at this point.

The only thing Disney needs to lay off is those high price hikes on their already overpriced menu in the parks as well as lay off those increases on the tickets into said parks. Try laying off some of that first. Disney is one greed driven monster that's for sure.

I disagree

The only reason I have it is because of the few games they have rights to I cannot get anywhere else.

ESPN should reign in the talk shows and broadcast actual sporting events for most of the day. Or create a bunch of shows centered around athleticism/reality stuff like how MTV has 'The Challenge. Then Sportscenter at night to recap. Most of the network is people talking to each other all day. I remember 10 years ago when First Take was must see TV. The 'hot take' was a new concept. Its not 2010 anyway and now all of their shows are garbage and cheesy and why on earth is Kendrick Perkins on TV.

    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
    • I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
