Signficantly better than anything Cam had? Cam's rookie receiving option were better than what we have now.

89, Olsen, Shockey, Lafell, LEGATRON!!!!!, 2 pro bowl RBs?

Okay sure. I guess I mean throughout most of Cams career. Smitty and Olsen were gone very quickly. And then the talent nosedived. Ted Ginn Jr, Lafell, KB (who was actually great before his mother passed in fairness)

I’m forgetting so many names right now, but that’s my point really. Cams WRs for most of his career were remarkably forgettable.

I mean, Cam's weapons were just flat out better when he was young and developing.  Which for is the key for a young QB IMO.  You got to give him weapons early.  Especially his first 3 seasons as a pro Cam had a good cast.

I'd rather give a young QB great weapons early and then adjust later.  Not start weak and slowly add.  Think they develop better when life is good early.

Again, I agree with you. I just think it’s unreasonable to assume we have no intention of continuing to add talent for BY down the road and I think our offense is being really underestimated by fans in this board. No, we don’t have a superstar offensive weapon for BY (we traded that guy to get him essentially) but he has real talent on this roster imo. A lot better than most #1 picks get. And there just isn’t value at #39 unless it’s Mayer, but he’s not exactly a lightening weapon. He’s just an all round solid old school style TE.

Yeah, not really.

People have been speculating that our next pick could be on defense for hours.

Literally their biggest signing in FA was 3 wrs a RB TE and 2 Olinemen.. It’s really not that hard to see defense might be a big focus in the draft after FA mostly used on offense..

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
