Nah Ridder starts. They are prepared to sink or swim with him.

As they should be. You have a young QB with some talent and aren't expected to do anything. Use this season to test drive him. If he shows promise, great. If he doesn't, you're gonna have a really high pick to shop for another one.

I wasn't very high on Ridder as a prospect but given their overall situation playing Ridder is absolutely the right call. Heinicke is a good backup. But you're not going anywhere with him as a starter so why bother?

It seems like a significant miss by the NFL to have the #1 overall pick QB on the road week one. Give the fans what they want. We've been desperate for a QB for years. Let us see our guy at home to start his career. I mean, damn.

If I'm the NFL anytime there's a #1 pick QB who is expected to start right out of the gate I'm having that team open at home. That fanbase has been suffering. Throw a dog a bone.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
