If you expected a playoff year this year with rookie QB, entirely new staff, completely new schemes on offense and defense......

 

You don't football very well. That's never been the way it works. 

 

Calm down and enjoy the process of watching a young team develop into something more (hopefully).

Yeah, we shouldn't expect the Playoffs when damn near the whole team from a 7 win team (player wise) and make shift staff is back, but better at QB. The NFC South is dogshit. The NFC in general is dogshit. You're right. Anyone that thinks the Panthers will make the Playoffs when the best QB in the division is debatable, and in your own Conference the QB with the most INT's (Prescott) last year is "one of the best QB's in the conference." They "just don't football well." 

Sorry, you're not making any sense here. 

You can't learn poo from the Preseason.

You should expect to win this division 

After you were 1 game from doing so last year even with Rhule handicapping the team the first couple games of the season.

You brought in this highly touted “all star” staff..

You went up and got the top QB in the draft.  And not only the top QB, but the most NFL ready one according to everyone.

 

To not expect to win this division and make the playoffs.  

Taking a step backwards

Is just a losers mentality

This new coaching staff should be better than what Rhule put together.

This rookie QB should be better than our QBs last year. 
 

Anyone overreacting to what you see in preseason after being proven year in and year out that how you look in preseason doesn’t foretell how you will perform in the regular season… just doesn’t know football. 
 

Im almost convinced at this point folks making threads like this is just their defense mechanism because they are scared of being optimistic.

But we never did that.  We just hired better than Rhule’s staff.  

our OC and DC combined have 1 year worth of experience in the job.   That’s potential.  That’s unknown. 

Frank got fired for bland and pedestrian offense.  He is Ron Rivera.  He is Jon Fox. 

and the icing on the coach cake was hiring a couple was hiring some 70 year olds to advise us in the 2023 era. Capers and Caldwell aren’t all stars in 2023.   Heck they weren’t decades ago. 

this staff was about bringing some stability and respect to a franchise that became a literal laughing stock because of Rhule.  Which it did.  Frank, Caldwell, Capers.  Respect across the league.  And they got some young coordinators they hope the groom up and see grow.  But they got grow just like Bryce.

We didn’t ?

because all I’ve heard from national pundits, local writers who cover the team, fans, posters, etc

that we hired one of the best coaching staffs in the entire NFL.  With multiple guys who will be future NFL HCs sooner than later.

The team will make the playoffs this year and it will have more to do with the NFC South than how good the team is. 9 wins should get you in and a two game improvement from the previous season should be a realistic expectation.

      We definitely improved from 2024 to 2025, to me the results were less important than the roster in that regard. It's better. It's still a very bad roster but continuing to be better is the goal. The changes we are talking about at QB are about spending LESS resources. Not picking up Bryce's 5th is a big potential savings. Significantly better QB's have been had in recent years for half or less than what Bryce will get in 2026. To say nothing of an extension(the ridiculous subject of this thread) which would cripple roster building by saddling it with a bloated QB contract for an awful QB. The price for Bryce, I mean who is even making that argument anymore? I don't think you are seeing anyone in this thread discussing trading up to #1 for Mendoza.  We are talking about cheap backup and FA QB's and Day 2 and 3 draft guys. That is literally tied to the idea of roster building. IMPROVE at QB while you build the roster so that we can actually potentially attract a franchise QB or when you make that big move up(SF for Lance) that your roster is so good that the impact is largely negated.  After all, improving over Bryce is an extremely low bar to hit. Let's not assume that standing pat would have resulted in a sudden spurge in good decision making. Don't forget who was making all those roster calls at the time. Bryce or not, we would have fuged it up in some way because we had idiots at the helm. We may still yet. Also, it's easy to say we can't get in the habit of switching QB's like that but there are also plenty of situations where that flip was the correct decision. Richardson to Jones, Rosen to Murray, Fields to Williams, Lance to Purdy(technically some nuance to this), etc. There is no real danger of Bryce leaving and suddenly becoming an elite QB. We all do know this, no matter how big of a Bryce stan you may be. His ceiling is middling game manager. So there isn't some crazy risk of moving on.

      Honestly. You can see it on the field. Bryce will literally skip a pass on the ground rather than throw a contested catch to XL. Especially when it's one where XL would have to fight back to the ball. Coker is actually really good at that. Coker lacks real NFL speed (not a small thing), but he maxes out in most other categories.
