The O-line protection issues are something I think people could legitimately point to as an issue that could translate to the regular season games. They absolutely have to get that cleaned up and I’d like to be optimistic and believe they will.

The play calling and stuff however, idk man. They’ve told us over and over that they aren’t running the stuff we’ll see in season. Frank has said it, Thomas has said it, and Bryce admitted it in the pressers last night. Now if the plays/play calls look similar week one then hey, we can have a discussion. But right now when they aren’t game planning to beat certain looks and coverages, idk if I can get too worked up about it.

Yeah the o line has sucked.  That is my main concern.  You look at the amount of time BY has actually played and the number of sacks and hits he has taken already- it really doesn't look good  for the guy to make it through the first half of the season let alone a whole season especially in light of all the talk pre and post draft about how his small stature would make him more susceptible to injury.

I know you never do it but you should give out like one like a day.  It would make people strive to be better.

Lol no but really , I like the way you try to keep people grounded. This game gets me crazy, that's not a bad thing. It's the only thing that gets me over emotional. People can say ,if you care that much walk away. Maybe I want something that I'm allowed to loose my shizz over! Really hope you really do that. Get an Emoji from Scott and you won the day!

You should see Lady Cowboy Fan watching a Dallas game.

Andrew Luck is the answer to your question.  Luck was a multi time Pro Bowler at that point.  Peak of his career.  And then walked away after that year.

Andrew Luck did not play defense for that Colts team that preseason

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
