Something to think about

Of course this is all old news at this point and it was just something that came to mind. The lack of good depth on the roster and just some of the decision making that I think has really shown it self now.

Traded a 2nd , 4th and 5th I believe for Darnold

Traded a 3rd and used a 3rd for Corral (correct me if this is wrong)

Traded 2 1sts , 2 2nds and DJ Moore for Bryce Young

That is a ton of picks, and high picks, and to show you have 1 starter after all that. And lose your stud WR. This team has never truly embraced a rebuild under Tepper so far and I think we won’t even fully benefit from Bryce being on a rookie deal because of what the price was to get him.

The mismanagement of the Rhule era will take some time to get over. The Panthers did what they had to do to begin with a baseline - finally get a chance at a franchise QB.

With next season comes a large amount of cap room, which I suspect the Panthers are likely to fish around for pieces to fill out depth and starters. It'll be a multi-year process to clean up the mistakes of the past regime, but I'm hopeful that they'll manage to do so.

With that amount of draft capital that’s been given up. They could’ve almost had an entire side of the ball filled out with quality talent. Tough pill to swallow. That’s almost an entire unit lol.

There's really no way to tell where we would be or who we'd have picked up. You have to live life as it comes. You can play the "if game" for every decision that you make. Sometimes you make good decisions. Sometimes you make bad decisions. Making bad decisions will cost you, but you can't stay in a state of inertia or throw in the towel and expect to make progress.

It's too soon after the Rhule era to think that everything's going to be fixed during one off-season, and it's really to soon to be judging our depth after a couple of preseason games after one off-season since Rhule was fired. I mean, the second and third string guys didn't look too bad against the Giants.

That is the price you pay to play in this league.  There is also no guarantee that all those picks would have turned into starters. I doubt half would have.

A franchise will remain in purgatory until they have a good QB. All of those moves were made to try to get a QB.

If Bryce is good, what we paid to trade up won’t matter. (And thankfully most of the payment has been made already, with this coming year’s first and the following year’s 2nd remaining “due”).

As we sit here today, we haven’t mortgaged the future. We took a big swing on Bryce though. We have enough draft capital and cap room to surround him with talent. This is year 1 of a rebuild.

Oh c'mon man. This place has to get over the fear of the past. And maybe give up that quest for perfection as well.

Our future was changed the day we hired Frank Reich. No one knows how this future will end. But projecting past fears upon that future will have zero effect on the outcome of said future. So, you may as well relax and just enjoy the ride. It's better for your health anyway.

If Bryce gives us close to a ROY year, this team is going to be competitive I tell ya what.
