Who is the best team in our division?

NO has a consistent defense and Carr makes their offense dangerous.  I think they win the division.  Atlanta will be good but banking on a rookie running back to carry the load isn't a good idea.  I think we have an overall better roster and we'll be 2nd in the division.

I know we looked horrendous in the preseason but that was by design.  I really think we are going to have a very exciting team.  Remember Cam's first two seasons if we had a decent defense we would have made the playoffs our offense was pretty potent.  Our rookie QB wasn't the problem.  It was the D.

This year if our Rookie plays well, we have a defense that can get us some wins.

Is our roster really that good though?  Outside of Chinn, Burns, Brown, Bozeman, and an aging Theilen, we have a rookie QB and a bunch of guys that are mediocre

Saints have really aged out. I believe they are the oldest team in the league now. They have the best roster as long they can keep them on the field.

I don't think the Falcons are very good. The thing is, they do 1 thing really really well, and if your defense has trouble against the run it will be a very long day.

I think I read the Bucs have the most pro bowl talent on roster in the division. Sounds reasonable. Mayfield is subpar, question marks on the oline, and there is no running game to speak of. Might be the worst offense in the NFC.

It's Saints, but they are on borrowed time.

We've been saying this for 10 years and it's not been true yet. The salary cap is a farce for them and it's time people give their GM some credit for manipulating low cap space into a decent team, year in and year out.

Carr is also a lot better than Panthers fans give him credit for.

Definitely the Saints when looking at the current rosters and results from last season.

Tampa has the weakest roster by far. Nearly every position group on that roster is not equipped to deal with losing a starter for the season. Atlanta and Carolina have a couple of groups where they could weather such a storm, but the Saints have the best depth by far.

I'm eager to see how this roster develops and evolves under the new staff. We've already seen the death knell for many of Rhule's preferred players, so early signs are showing that Reich is going to put less of a premium on athleticism and more on football intelligence when it comes to later round selections in the draft.

In fairness, they had Drew Brees for most of those years.  That compensated for a lot of the issues.  And I do think it was true last year. They were not a decent team. But the rest of the division was so bad that no one noticed.

Falcons.

I will never trust Dennis Allen with my life. It overjoys me that we get two free wins because of that atrocious bum.

The Panthers have had the Saints number even before Dennis Allen.  The real question would be how many teams outside of division can the Panthers beat?

I think the order will be: Panthers, saints, Falcons, Bucs .  The bucks will be a wild card this year.

All I’ve heard from the Huddle the last 8 years is that you can’t be successful without a stud QB.  If that’s the case, we are better than the other 3.  I’ll take a rookie Bryce Young all day long over Carr, who can’t connect in the red zone to save his life.

Id probably take a 2024 Young over Carr, but there is no way you can argue as we sit here today that Young is better now.

Roughly half of our roster has been turned over.  Its going to take some time.

    • I think Bryce balls out again and the Panthers win in a close one.  Panthers will have a defender shadow CMC the whole game so I expect he'll be contained to under 100 yards.
    • yeah, Steve was basically like on any actual topic that approached his flaws/problems.....89 went with the long winded, try to sound like a wise man strategy of just basically just pleading the 5th (and sprinkling in the idea that others could of been wrong or wrong too).   also, in terms of the assaults and stuff like that....it feels like old 89, I feel has sort of forgotten his well-documented confessions and apologies about that aspect and era of his and was trying to re-write his story/image in hindsight.   And in all honesty, it seemed like a PR move on the twitter/cheating stuff also attempting to play himself as not the bad guy some think with the intentional vague suggestions. and the Pivot and all these athlete moves to basically take the reigns and power from traditional outlets exposes they have just as bad as flaws if not more often than the traditional media folks.  I mean I do like the free form long talk when dudes are telling stories but all this stuff is largely flawed and controlled PR often.
    • Sadly, I agree and I’m a huge Melo fan. Might be time to ship him out. Don’t want to make the same mistakes the Pels did. They should’ve gotten rid of Zion two years ago.
