So we are down our 2 starting OGs plus our top CB and it’s only week 2.

Sounds bad but a glance around the league shows we aren't that bad off relatively. Some teams are getting crushed by injuries. Giants really stick out

The stupid part of my brain say we should just release him.
But the rational part of my brain says that he will end up on a team and not get hurt and we will lose out.
I think we should ride him out but we need more depth next year and I think we seriously need to consider not giving him his 5th year option.

Geez. How was this not reported earlier by the team?

I see we also added another WR with a blazing 4.54 40 time.  SMH

I remembered him being a track athlete during that draft, and yes he was.

Without checking my notes, I thought he had a hard time to separate and one game he was locked up by a WR converted to play DB just for that game to cover him. He ended up with a TD but I think he was covered by another DB for that play.

Lots of people here was intrigued by him during that draft process. I wasnt sold on him.

I think it is a decent pickup just to see if he has developed.

Why the hell can we never catch a break?  Like ever.  2015 and 2003 were the only years where things bounced the right way for us, and we made it to the Super Bowl both years.  God, I just want a team that is good and competitive year in and year out.  At least I am also a Braves fan because my NBA and NFL teams cannot ever get right.

I tell myself all the time "thank God at least one of the three teams I'm obsessed with is the Braves"

Looks like the Ekwonu-Zavala left side combo might happen sooner than expected. Reich said that the team was bullish on Mays during the preseason, so I could see him being easier for them to replace with Corbett once he's healed.

If Zavala balls out, he might hold that LG position until the rest of the season. If he doesn't, expect BC back starting (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!).

    • Word is that Lawrence showed up and weighed in at nearly 400 pounds for his Bengals medical check. I'd find a reason to fail him. Blood type tested as bacon grease. Fail. We've all seen what happens when a dominant huge, explosive DT can't manage his weight. You're gonna age like milk. Looking like Kris Jenkins 2.0.
    • Hard to interpret some of Brugler's opinions. Capable of running a robust route tree sounds like a lazy thing to say - I'm sure just about every slot TE is capable of running a full route tree... I want to know if he is currently able to (which from tape leads me to a no). Granted, it's pretty common for most receivers/TE not having a full route tree developed before they get drafted. Agility/acceleration after the catch hasn't shown up on his tape (at least his Oregon tape) for those dig/out breaking routes while it has for the seam and slant routes. Agree he has a good physical build and he is very good running seam routes. His build definitely helps him to shield defenders and create a large target point for the QB. Drops were a concern, but it could be focus drops just like T-Mac was/is prone to. Run blocking is an accurate statement, but again, we have only seen him run block in the slot/backfield - inline blocking is a whole different animal. With his athleticism, he definitely has a high ceiling. I just think he also has a low floor and don't like taking that big of a risk on a mid 1st rounder. I think this is a deep TE draft and would much rather target one in the 3rd or later. He's very boom or bust to me - bust in terms of being worth a 1st round pick, not an out of the NFL in a few years type bust. I feel like he gives me Evan Engram vibes. Not saying that Evan Engram was/is a bad NFL player, just that most people would agree he shouldn't have been drafted in the 1st.
