Looks legit for an injury, but as a former athlete, it's still tough to believe that even with adrenaline that your ankle got tweaked bad enough that you can't perform the following few days but finished the game without even a limp.

Yeah. There was no hitch in his step at all and still isn’t from the videos of him walking into practice. It’s fishy for sure.

So tepper. Your franchise LB and QB are both out with ankle injuries.  We gonna change that turf or just keep progressing through the list of players until everyones hurt?

yeah, grass gives there. Turf doesn’t.  Now the biggest investment of Dave’s career is sitting on the sidelines.

its just stupid, the argument is the cost.  a turf field is what a couple of million installed but grass is higher maitenance?  how much does it cost a team when your star players are being injured.  How much do you think its costing the Jets right now?  Possibly a Super Bowl.

Damn the Huddle went from meltdown mode => conspiracy mode => sports psychologist mode => "okay so maybe what the staff said happened was plausible" in record time

I think you left out "landscape expert mode"

Or maybe he's just extremely mentally tough and was able to keep a stiff upper lip through the pain.

Of course that would mildly contradict what many of the neckbeards on this site have been saying since Tuesday about Bryce Young locking himself in his room listening to Dashboard Confessional and refusing to come out until Frank Reich promised to let him skip a game

If it is not that severe I can see it happening. Once the adrenaline is gone and you take your shoe off, it really hits home. My guess is that maybe he could have played if it was a playoff game, but the prudent decision is to rest him for a week.

    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
    • Good luck to Burns. He’s fine as a third pairing defensemen but Rod is too stubborn to do that.
