We may win 5-6 games max. We are bottom 5 team in the league, no questions about it.

Which is crazy because we weren't bottom 5 last season.

Then we fired the coach that kept us competitive, make a ridiculous trade for Bryce Young and send our best receiver away.

Now we look bad enough to get that #1 pick in the draft that we traded up for in this past draft.

Unfortunately it's going to someone else

Kinda makes you wonder whether Bryce Young learning the playbook so easily was a bad sign that perhaps Reich has no idea how to playcall in the modern NFL. Perhaps it being too easy makes it a bad playbook, seems defenses have keyed in on it in three games.

Yes, this team has deficient receivers. But that can be schemed around. Empty backfield 3rd and longs with long developing plays, no rubs or double moves, and nothing to help create space to open up receivers sets up disastrous results.

Week three and no improvement in that regard against a bottom 30 NFL defense is NOT fun to watch.

I get where you are trying to come from but Dalton walking up to the line only to have Moton or Icky jump back isn't because Frank is out there coaching poorly. That is on them. Some players can't handle the noise.

They literally didn’t have this problem last season.

coaches can install plays for loud environments. It’s not like the stadium being loud is a shock.

But those are still errors on the player. Not the coaching. These guys have been playing their whole lives and somehow still get penalties like this in loud environments. I mean our offensive line had the same penalty happen twice in the same game where Dalton was walking up to the line and they jumped. So the player has seen it happen once already and did it again. That isn't a coaching issue.

Play calling is horrible.

I remember Indianapolis Colts having a pretty boring offense the past few seasons, now it just hit me we have their coach.

    • Who is "they"?  Who in the media still argues that Bryce Young could reach the levels that people thought he would before the draft? I mean, nobody is going to come outright and bash the kid.  By all accounts he's a good dude and I think that is why you don't see the media come after him like they did Zach Wilson.
    • It started during the Denver game after that first drive. i don’t think the panthers got a first down again until the fourth quarter.
    • The Panthers will finish with at least 7-8 wins.  So that leaves them with only two "smart" choices in my opinion: 1. Sign a reasonably priced free agent QB and see if they are better than Bryce Young in training camp - The issue is there will be very little options.  There is almost no way the Colts let Daniel Jones walk.  Rodgers, Flacco, and Wilson will likely retire (and is Wilson better than Bryce anyway?).  Winston is under contract with the Giants for another year.  That leaves Mariota, which I'm all for, but the Commanders will make a big push to keep him given Daniels' injury history.  Outside of him, there is literally nobody else. 2. Stick with Bryce Young for one more year - Nobody wants this to happen, but the Panthers won't be in a position to draft one in the first round and it isn't a strong class to begin with.  Mendoza, Simpson (and do we really want an Alabama QB?), and Moore will likely all be off the board by the time we pick.  Bryce isn't good, but we are still 5-4.  I'd rather continue to build the rest of the team than reach for a QB.  Then we could set ourselves up nicely in 2027 to make a splash play if we choose.  This is how we should have approached years past; stuck with Kyle Allen or Sam Darnold or Teddy Bridgewater and kept building the team until we were ready to make a splash.  But every year we panicked and did something stupid. There is the idea you could throw a dart at a guy in the later arounds, but IMO this just isn't a good QB class and odds are it will be a wasted pick.  I still think we need a lot of depth on the defense.  I'd rather focus there.
