A host on Lions flagship radio proposes Williams + first for Burns

Alright, guys, this is via SI Fan Nation. So, keep it in context (kind of like shooting the poo, but with a citywide audience). The writer reported that the host of 97.1 The Ticket, Jim Costa, has an idea. Costa said that provided that they could get a deal where they could get Brian Burns long term, then the Lions should offer the Panthers Jameson Williams plus a first for Brian Burns.

"My point would be, they won in Kansas City without him, they won in Green Bay without him, they're in first place in this division without him," Costa explained. "He has been unreliable. He is not someone who is untouchable and to get a difference maker for this team, I would be willing to include him."

"Costa stated that the Lions could include a first round pick with Williams [contingent upon working] out an extension with Burns. On the flip side, he believes dealing Williams could be beneficial for the struggling Panthers' offense."

It's an interesting hypothetical. While we're at it, perhaps we could try and acquire John Metchie for Chinn since he's obviously not conducive to EE's scheme anyway.

What are your thoughts?

    • That’s not a bad idea at all. I was really liking the whole cali-style carne asada. We might do that next week instead of enchiladas for the rams. Was planning on: Saints-Gumbo Tampa-Cuban Sandwiches Seattle- Salmon Stew Tampa- Seafood Boil
    • I agree, honestly you can not trade a player that has Balls talent. Just sitting in street clothes FOR years, it doesn't matter if you are averaging 50points on 88% with 18 rebs, 15 asst, 4 stls if you never can play. These are the worst type of players, teasers. Its HIS JOB to get his body in NBA shape and he has proven that he can not. Thus you break the rule about trading top shelf talent. Hell NBA need to have NFL contracts where the full sum isn't guaranteed, you bet your ass if his money was tied to his playing on the court he'd somehow figure out how to stay healthy.   Plus Im a old head, I member when Seth Curry in his 17(Jesus..) year career had ankle problems and guess what, he solved the issues and got all the money, championships, and fame. Ball doesn't have the same drive to figure out his body, he'd rather drive his car on kids feet while rushing home to drive his go-cart on the roof of his condo after missing his 42nd game of the season.....
