Leadership is not the problem

The mid 2010s era had TD, Cam, Olsen, and Kalil swinging their dicks in the locker room. Luke too, but he seemed to be more lead-by-example. Part of the reason Rivera was so hands-off was because of this veteran leadership. Young guys and JAG’s respected the veteran core and didn’t fug around.

The current squad has nobody like that. The closest thing we’ve had recently was Gilmore and Cam’s corpse for half a year. And arguably Baker. Ran all 3 off. Noticing a trend?

Bryce is a natural born leader which is why he was made captain once he got here just like he was at Bama. Its one of his best intangibles cause he treat everyone with respect and would NEVER toss anyone under the bus even if its their fault unlike most highly drafted QB.

No other rookie in this draft class is as qualified as he is. Ickey can never be a captain cause he eats pancakes as much as he dish em out on game day.

Im still shocked a classy organization like the Steelers would sign this guy as a backup knowing he has toss his key players and HC under the bus like a bum that he is.

Luke was weird.  He turned into the rage monster when he stepped on the field Sunday.  Rarely see such an extreme Jeckyll and Hyde like that.  He wasn’t leading by example on Sundays but totally see it that way the other 6 days.

Luke wasn't leading by example on Sundays?  Huh???

    • I mean, I think you're being a little hyperbolic with the last statement, but point taken.
    • Pass rush was the biggest issue in tonight’s game, and we were tied for 28th in sacks this season. That is a major area of need that has to get addressed this offseason. I just don’t see a path where there’s a game changing QB you can bring in with where we are drafting and quality of veterans that will be available. We certainly can do better than Dalton as a backup, and should ideally have a developmental guy  (perhaps a day 3 pick this year). We have bryce for one more year on a reasonable contract and then I think 2027 is the year that you reset that position (unless he massively improves).
    • Agreed, honestly basically bringing this group back as a healthy unit would be alright.  Brady Christensen should be resigned to a very reasonable deal with him recovering from the Achilles.  Atleast we're alright at 4 of our 5 spots with Lewis, Mays, Hunt, and Moton, Nijman was decent.  While if we can snag a deal on someone, take a stab, however our resources need to go to Linebacker, Pass Rush and a real option outside Tmac (coker is amazing, but if we can get someone who isnt braindead opposite Tmac, we can fully unleash Coker AND Tmacs full potential, cant move him into the slot if racoon boy is out there licking doorknobs).
