There is no way he is stepping back from football operations. He already "knows" what coaches he needs and "knows" what we need in the draft. He MUST make BY successful to prove he is a genius and the will be his downfall.

 

The "culture of fear" quote was also important. A lot of people know what its like working at a place like that. Everyone is doing what the have to do to not get fired. If you see something that could be fixed but it would bring attention to you when you can just ignore it and not be involved at all, you ignore that problem. Employees are pit against each other. They will go behind your back and report to the boss what you're doing wrong. Its just tense. Tepper is one of those bosses who makes sure that when everyone wakes up in the morning, the first feeling they get is dread for having to go in that day. It's a horrible way to live but that is what Tepper wants. He wants fear, for you to be on edge, always thinking about what you have to do at work while you're home. 

 

People like this don't change. He cannot do it even if he knows he has to for the team to succeed. He may step back at first but the first loss because of a bad call by the coach, he is back on the field telling the coaching staff how stupid they are and what they will need to change. Everyone can look at the Panthers record and see exactly when he came on board. We will not have a winning season with Tepper involved at all with the team. He needs to sell or....if Tepper is here this team will suck. These Wall Street guys that make it that high up are pretty much the scum of the earth. These are the guys that will short a company to death that was inventing a new treatment for cancer if it means they can make $1,000,000. That's their mindset.

True. We need Bryce to keep flashing or showing potential these last couple games and this job can become a lot more attractive, especially if Tepper agrees to yield to his staff this time.

There is no such thing as being accountable BEHIND THE SCENES.  Accountability is not hidden from view--he may be licking his wounded ego, but that is another thing.  Many think success has to do with superior intelligence, and that is only one variable.   I have a doctorate, and people tell me, "You must be smart."  I reply, "in one specific area of life, yes.  But the process teaches you what it takes to be a real expert in one specific area of life, and that knowledge makes me realize what an idiot I am in the other areas."

      Right. But you do understand that there is no such thing as not signing free agents, right? That's what I mean. So make some good free agency moves and do well in the draft. That's step one. If you can't accomplish that, then this will just keep getting worse.

      Sweet jebus this is idiotic Yes, overall team success in this league, you need a good QB, but beyond just that painfully obvious fact, let's get into the rest of the stupid in there......... First things first, you say.. "if we need a good QB for him to have success, then why are you drafting that player with the #1 pick" Show me one time I've ever said we would need a good QB for T-Mac himself to have success... you can't, because I never have.  I think you're referring to the "he's bad enough that we then have a Top 5 pick to target a QB" part of my post, which is very clearly talking about said QB, not T-Mac.  The other way to interpret that is just overall team success, which again, wouldn't be anything about T-Mac or his ability to impact the offense or overall team wins and losses. I'm quite sure I could do this with a number of teams over the years, but I don't want to spend the time to do multiple, so I'll keep it to just the 2023 Vikings right now since you wanted to use Jefferson as your example....... The Vikings went 3-6 after Cousins went down last year.  And two of those wins came before Jefferson even came back from his own injury, they were 1-4 in the final 5 weeks after Jefferson came back. In those 5 games, Jefferson had 31 catches, 503 yards, and 2 TDs Having the WR you specifically called out didn't help them go better than 1-4 with a bad QB, even though he still put up a great stat line for that time period either.  It also didn't make that QB good enough to where they then went out and brought in TWO new QB's this year to replace Doubs and Mullens who started down the stretch for them last year. And that's with 4th year Jefferson, not a rookie that T-Mac would be If you expect a WR getting drafted #1 overall to be the player to turn a franchise as bad as we are around in 1 season, make whatever QB we're able to put in there be successful, and lead us to a solid season, then you are literally insane. We are AWFUL, we have a few young guys who could turn into great players, but we are so far from being a good team, that there isn't any player we could draft next year that is going to change that in 2025.
