Belichick out at NE

Recommended Posts

Lotta people saying Atlanta for Belichick.  Commanders or Chargers--he wants a QB (Washington has the #2 pick, I believe) and LAC has Herbert and they are under performing.  If I were him, I would go to the Chargers--I just don't know how much he'd like LA.

I see two desirable situations for Bill. It depends on what Bill wants to do.

  • Dallas: It's a TV Dinner. 3-consecutive 12-win seasons. Roster made to win now. He can pop that team in the microwave, nuke it, win a Super Bowl and retire being hailed once again as a coaching genius.
  • Carolina: Low Effort. He can step in, earn an ungodly paycheck for another few years, and retire without actually accomplishing anything. It doesn't tarnish his legacy because we're a terrible team, a worse franchise, and he has the built-in excuse of a pain-in-the-ass owner.

I don't see him going to an Atlanta or an L.A. where they have some pieces in place, but he'd have to actually build the program to take it to the next level. Because if he doesn't succeed in those situations, all it does is feed into the rhetoric that he couldn't win without Tom Brady. God forbid those teams actually have a worse record after he takes over? How would that make him look?

The Panthers, quite literally can't do much worse after he takes over, and that, funnily enough, I think should be an attractive prospect for him.

So does he want to cement his legacy with one more ring? Or get a massive golden parachute to end his career?

Should’ve called it a career the moment Brady bolted to Tampa. A losing record the past four years and that's with him bungling the six billion draft picks the Patriots always seem to get every year. The Patriots were so bad this year that we could've won an ugly low scoring game with them. The vaulted Patriot Way was a dead end just about everywhere else it was emulated by his former staff that became head coaches. Won't deny his intimate football knowledge except the translation to actual results on the field seems lacking. His decisions on QB are whimsical as though a fan is making them instead of a coach.

Bringing him here would be a colossal waste of money and time but on the other hand, it would make Tepper look even more of a fool while putting a massive stain on Belichick's career. I shouldn’t be that petty but the thought is crossing my mind.

So .... George Seifert.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
