The 33rd pick in the draft needs to be traded for a later second and hopefully a third.

I wouldn’t be opposed to 2 OL out of those three picks (trade partners 2nd and 3rd and our 3rd).

Two interior Olineman in those picks and the best available edge rusher, receiver or tight end.

Disagree on trading down. 33rd should be a great BPA pick. Someone (probably a few) 1st rounders will slip out of the first due to a few reaches and just fit with drafting team. We have the perfect opportunity to go BPA at every pick.

Only way I’d trade down is if we got a later second plus a 2025 2nd. We won’t be good next year so great 2025 picks are great value to us. We don’t need more picks, we need picks to turn into impact players because we have Brown in 2024 and that’s it. Luvu and Brown aren’t even under contract yet. The entire rest of our team is replaceable. The top teams have more pro bowlers than we have non-JAGs. I’d think about adding Horn but he’d have to play a full year first.

I believe it was the coaching. Why traditional approaches to supporting a rookie QB were abandoned, I can only guess, but the design played to the weaknesses of the personnel.

I mean, in 2022 we had a 2nd tier OL but it was maximized mostly by Wilks for everyone to see, just months before Reich was handed the keys. They were not going to win against the elite DLs but they could compete against the rest, if you design your approach to take their strengths into consideration. And that is enough to give you a chance to at least run an offense and get some work on other things for that QB. Get little green some experience, some positive experience. Something to build on.

Nope, let’s make it all harder than it has to be.

The smart move would be to keep Bozeman, move Ekwonu to guard next to Moton with Christensen & Corbett on the left side. Better blindside pass blocking & a power running right side of the OL. Easier running audibles to kill a pass play & get leverage on the blitz. Need an offensive coaching staff that will go with a power running game.

Yes, they should consider a center in the second. Same goes for every other position on the Oline including RT. The whole Oline can stand to be upgraded.

Center is crucial. We need to draft a stud center in the second if there is one on the board this year.

    • I still contend no well run team would have him on the roster next year.  You got to move on from him.  And you can't put the #1 overall pick, 3 year starter as the backup...that creates horrific in house dynamics.
    • I do think there is a win/lose aspect he is presently in with his QB situation.   Let's say he does some really good Steve Wilks play ugly to win coaching......with a really ugly game plan beats SF (which we could have), gets New Orleans, and a Tampa game.  Completely minimizes Bryce Young.  well, that would have put him at 9-8 on the season.   And then......Bryce Young is going nowhere.  Maybe Morgan replaces Dalton but the Bryce conundrum gets even worse.  Now you go that 5th year.  and we know Bryce is going to get unfair credit.  He already gets absurd credit for anything that goes okay.  you are to an extent damned if you do if you are Canales IMO.   I want them all gone.  I just don't think Tepper can get the hire.  I think the only way Tepper can get a good hire....is to give a decent coach way more power than Tepper would like.
    • As a general optimist who tries to be even handed, I was in the “I have hope” but it’s now gone category.  I acknowledged that the bad games were more frequent than the OK ones which were in turn more frequent than the good ones. I just held out hope that he could put things together and more consistently perform at those mid and higher levels. But I’m off that train now. I think he can probably improve his consistency a bit from where he is, but it’ll never be good enough. He’s on the roster next year because he’s under contract, but I don’t think we should pick up his 5th year option and definitely not extend him. He may start next year too because there genuinely are not as many competent QBs as there are starting spots in the league, so the alternatives are all trash. But we’ve got to get fresh blood in the QB room and find our next starter.
