I just hope these guys are innovative.  It is crazy to watch us run plays that are outdated and easy to defend.  It's frustrating to watch other teams run some pretty cool plays, and I am not talking gadget plays only, and we run a vanilla offense.

I look forward to Canales getting our O-Line straight with the players we already have and draft a couple of weapons for Young.  He sorely needs them.

Completely agreed!

Apparently, he’s an amazing WR coach.

he has also been on teams who featured Evans/Godwin and Lockett/Metcalf as the starting WRs.   So, his teams have not been short on talent at both starting spots.

he walks into a team that doesn't have an actual 1 or 2.

He may be a reason we’re talking about these folks still.

Now I do realize Evans and Metcalf are absolute beasts, but we’ve seen plenty of physically talented receivers fizzle out.

He inherited them with the Bucs no doubt, but in Seattle he helped draft/develop those WRs with Canales.

This feels too much like rhule, hiring a bunch of people who never had their NFL role. If you go down the list of rumored assistants, they are all like carales. The lot of them have been ONLY assisting the coaching staff. Hes had the chance to hire from both bucs and seahawks coaching staffs, but hes picking mostly 2nd&3rd tiers. Just disappointing. This OC guy coached the bucs WRs one year, his time at seattle was spent getting coffee and drying footballs for the QBs. The guy tapped for STs, was a ST coach for one whole year in 2020. The OL guy only has 4 years helping hold pads. Again just like carales career assistants to assistant coaches...

I get this will be a yearS rebuilt and all. Just the only hyped hire is #2 GM tilis...

If people can argue Moore is a true 1, Theilen must be at the very least a 2 if not a close true 1, especially with Young.

But I somewhat agree on your premises because I believe both a 2s. I think Theilen would absolutely thrive with a true 1 here. But he is getting old so that window is closing if not closed after this season.

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
