No WRs in round 2, I’m good with that

I'm all for letting the draft play out and let it come to you as they say. Stay out the "runs" on players at any position.  That's how we ended up with an overdrafted DE. The Panthers could take any player and it would fill a need somewhere. Just take the best left on their board and don't look back.

Am I the only one ok with no WRs in round 2? If that happens it means it was a run on WRs and it pushed some really good players to us.

With our needs and the depth of WR in this draft, the smart play could be CB and LB.  If you can get a player like Rice, Polk, Corley (possibly), or Walker in the third when you are ulikely to find your LB or maybe CB in round 3, it could be the play.  Mingo should improve and we added Johnson.   gonna be fun to see what they do, but we are all assuming WR is this huge need, but so are LB and CB.

Right.  Don't treat the draft as if it is the end of all personnel moves.  You can still make trades and we have first crack at the waiver wire---and there are the Undrafted free agents---we have a bare bones roster--no sense reaching at any position.

a lot of the undrafteds would probably feel they have a better chance of making the team with us.  So we got that going for us.  Which is nice

The Panthers not drafting a WR in a great WR draft despite having 2 picks that should be an ideal location to snag a good prospect……is exactly what a David Tepper lead team would do.

given how the WRs SHOULD fall, there isn’t even a reach argument right now.  It’s just us passing on them….and have nothing legit projected on the roster after this season.

and no, I wouldn’t be cool with it

    • I have said if you out even an average QB into the offense we are averaging 25+ points a game. But that will never happen with Bryce under center.
    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
