Who starts at corner opposite JC now?  Hill?

I could see Hill moving outside has part of rotation with Jamison, Bootle or Jackson.

Nick Scot might slide in to cover the nickel or the Smith-Wade kid if he’s done enough to gain the coaches trust. I bet we see a lot of him in these preseason games.

It was a silly signing.  Seems to make more sense to draft a RB every 2-3 years.

I agree wholeheartedly here. And with RBs being de-valued in the draft, it makes it much easier to snag a top end RB.

But back to the cornerback thing... are we still looking? I think we've been unsettled at CB for, well, since that last SB run.

So what happens when Horn goes down again? Just because they picked up his 5th year option doesn't change the fact he has been available under 50% of the time. This team could need 2 before Jackson is ready.

Save 200k cutting him! lol. $7.5m dead cap 200k savings. A Sanders trade could give us $6m if someone is insanely desperate but even our RB5 Mike Boone is balling out apparently. You don't pay RB's not named CMC or maybe Barkley

The Cowboys have shown interest in Sanders. Even if they pay 1/2 his salary and we get a 5/6th round pick, (or a CB) that would free up money. Brooks will be ready by week 3 to 4 I think.

I honestly think you hit on the soution here, or their plan. They keep adding safetys for a reason, maybe that reason is to have hill fill in for jackson until he's healthy and run a big nickle with 3rd safety.

It sorta makes sense given the lack of CBs and depth at S. The 3rd S Scott has played in everos system. It could be the base D until health is returned to 100%.

Hill has played outside for evero, but he's best at NB. Who knows they could claim a CB and start him week one as well. I've heard everos system puts the most stress on CB, so it would have to be a smart player.

Was anyone else left with a bad taste in their mouth after Gilmore talked about being home and loved being here, but then has been doing nothing but money hunting around ever since? I would be fine if he never comes back. Im tired of liars.

teams dont really show players loyalty unless you are a core player--the rest are temps.  If I were 34, Id be going after a last payday too.  But yeah, he did say that stuff-I think his wife did too

I would take them pay half his salary and that's it to be honest. I don't think they would give us a draft pick for him but if they paid half his salary I would say done deal and bye.

    • Was at the game and NYCFC honestly outplayed CLT the whole way.  Khalina and Zaha carried the team.  Zaha's wife on IG making it sound like he's gone come July. They're going to have to pay him or find a big time replacement because the team looks like pretty lost without him.
    • No one's saying LaMelo has no blame we're responding to you acting like he's the reason they lost. The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again. It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team. I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.  And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.
    • Honestly its why that Jalen Coker grab was a big deal.  I'd been warming up to the idea of a sadiq pick and was adamantly against a receiver...but this altered my train of thought.  I mean For instance, Cade Otton signed for 3 yr 30 mil contract...thats not dramatically different than the rookie payscale for #19 (4 year 20 mil with 5th year option), however you KNOW otton is decent...no clue if Sadiq will be anything.
