The worst defense in the NFL

It'd be one thing if just the pass rush was lacking but we can't stop the run either. When you can't stop the run and you can't rush the passer you're cooked. That's the whole ballgame on defense. You absolutely can't afford to suck at both.

Tepper can afford anything lol

We could at least load the box to stop the run, we cannot generate any pass rush, without or with blitzes, every qb is about to get their career highlights against us at this rate

If we could stack the box and stop the run we'd do it. You have to be able to do one or the other. But when an opposing offense can just do whatever they want and keep you off balance you're cooked. You gotta be able to take something away from them

I can't think of a Panthers defense that is as bad as this one. The tackling attempts are painful to watch. The slowness. Zero pass rush. Worst Panthers defense ever? I think so.

On offense it really comes down to who we are playing. Tight defense in the secondary, good pass rush, good run defense, and we're cooked. Dalton isn't good enough to handle that, and we don't run the ball enough even when it's working. Canales wants to run a lot of his pass plays to try and scheme people open, but the Bears locked him up. That's when you run the ball if you know what's good for you.

I haven't seen anything worse.

Even expansion teams. I mean maybe the old Saints? The old old Saints with the bags.

I don't there has been anything this bad for the Panthers not really close.

I do think it will get marginally better, I mean they stuck Wallace out there and had him making the calls in his first start. A guy can't worry about his own play thinking that much. He probably would be thinking too much without have to make any calls in his first start.

I have to say, I have been a supporter of him, but his locker room interview pissed me off. He wasn't mad, embarrassed, unhappy, that I could see. And that is what I needed to see.

Our defense is severely lacking in talent, but I'm glad you brought up the incompetence due to inexperience. I should have mentioned that icing on the cake.

Horn was fired up, but he's not exactly what he once was in his prime. Not saying he isn't still young and talented, but he's not exactly the same imo. I like his passion though and he's our best defender.

And Frankie Luvu will likely be named NFC Defensive Player of the Week tomorrow.

He was a monster today…and also completely owns that locker room in DC.

Way bigger loss than Burns.

He didn't want to be here.   Morgan already said that.  We offered him similar sized deal but he was sold on playing with Dan Quinn's scheme.

But I agree, he is a big loss.  He had soul.

We sold the defense in a last ditch effort so we could throw a ton of money to try and salvage the worst starting QB in the league. Within two games it was a wrap.

I'm done hearing fluff from the GM the coach the players whoever. Bring that poo around here you're going to get nothing but mocked.

And to think within the last week some of these players told fans to take the bags off their heads. They really showed up big for the fans. Trash!

    • Rico walking is no big deal. I'll take a healthy 2024 Hubbard over Rico any time and losing Mays is, again, no a big deal.  Young is signed for what, $35M for the next two years? Say he wants $50M but the FO doesn't. If they put the franchise tag on him, that would be around $55? So basically they are getting Young for the next 3 years for an average of $30M per year. Putting the franchise tag on him wouldn't be my first choice but it gives them an option that wouldn't be locking him into a long term, $50M contract. I'm not suggestion they do that. Just that the option will be there should they get to that point. Hunt is on a 5 year deal which is done in 28 so he either restructures or is gone anyway. Moton will be 35 by then and will either be gone or have diminished playing time. Neither of those players has anything to do with getting Young a contract. The O line is way overpaid anyway. Hopefully by the time they are gone, Freeling and Hecht will be developed and Ickey will be healthy. Young was benched his second year and only got his job back because Dalton was injured. Not sure how you can call that entitled. And I would NOT say putting a rookie QB on a team with no receivers, tight ends or O lineman and then being put with a coach who never wanted you and is fired mid season, is a definition of luck. As far as competition, no team is going to bring in competition for a QB picked first overall - especially given the capital that was given up to get him.
    • With apologies to Lady Cowboy fan, any day we can screw over the Cowboys is a GOOD day…
    • Been here since 2014ish. Good times. Its a shame Zod wont sell, it wouldnt take that much effort to get this place back into shape.
