These Panthers might be the worst team in NFL history. Their defense is dead last at getting to the quarterback even though they blitz at the fifth-highest rate in the NFL. Their offense looked good for a bit, but Andy Dalton has suddenly transformed into a turnover machine for some reason. The Panthers have the worst point differential through seven weeks in four years.

I don't agree, there are a select few worse than the 2024 Panthers, but not much. I think when its all said and done this team will be in the 'top' 5 worst teams of all time.

Also that last sentence, oof

We're horrific. But we didn't go ohfer so we can't be the worst ever. By any metric, you can't be the worst ever if you actually won a game. But in all my time watching, I can say this is handily the worst Panthers team I've ever seen fielded.

2008 Lions and 2017 Browns would wax us.

Browns finished with a -176 point differential.  Lions -249.  Panthers are already at -133, on pace for -323.

The reason why the Panthers are in an eternal rebuild under David Tepper started in 2020:

"BY  STEVE REED
Updated 1:59 PM EDT, December 21, 2020

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Panthers owner David Tepper says he wants the organization to continue taking steps toward a more “data-driven and analytics approach” to scouting personnel moving forward.

That’s one of the reasons Tepper decided to fire general manager Marty Hurney on Monday. Tepper said Hurney was more “traditional” in his approach to scouting and player personnel, but he wants to use more analytics when the team makes decisions."

Analytics in scouting = NO TALENT ON THE ROSTER

Analytics can work in the laws of average for program trading on Wall Street ............ and that's where it should stay.

Big Brain Tepper thinks what made him a billionaire means it works with everything .........and how can you tell him he's wrong?

After all he's a billionaire and you are not..............end of story in the mind of the Big Brain........he's a success and you are not.

Now go back to buying tickets, merchandise and rooting for the Big Brain's investment.

Worst team of all time? They won a game so that’s impossible considering there are teams that did not win a single game.

One of the worst of all time? Still too early to say but they’ll be in the conversation if they go 1-16.

So I think they’re not there yet but it’s possible.

    • He didn't actually make the playoffs. We had several opportunities to clinch on our own and crapped the bed. We had to wait for Atlanta to win to get us in. We had the tie breaker in a poo division that had 3 teams finish 8-9.  If you go back and look at the games we played, we weren't a dominant offensive team under him as an OC. We beat the Jets 13-7 and barely beat the packers after they failed to convert multiple red zone trips. We relied heavily on converting 4th downs. DC was also extremely slow at recognizing trends in game and was really lacking with clock management.  Was there progress this year? Yes. But most of it was on the defensive side of the ball. Our offense was stagnant with a couple of exceptions. Any improvement from Bryce was minimal and he kept insisting on XL over Coker, and even RB distribution instead of going with the hot hand.  He may be building something, but I don't think we've seen enough to know what that is. It could go either direction. If he insists on being OC, then without a noticeable improvement, yes he needs to be on the hot seat like any OC would. The more jobs you take on the more you have to be judged on. I think he would have a longer leash if he hired a true OC and just focused in being HC.
    • zero percent suprised Luke is a nice guy irl, have never heard anything differently from anyone that's met him.  I have heard mixed reports on Smitty I know one guy on here got to know Deangelo Williams and J stew pretty well back in the day when they used to host events and he said they were nice iirc  I can't imagine Jordan gross is a bad hang, he's hilarious
