Serious Thoughts Fellas What numbers would Bryce..

I think these kinds of questions understate how bad he has looked and how limited he is physically.

If he looked amazing I would still want the team to look for a starting QB.

I still don’t expect the team to make playoffs next year so I don’t care who the QB is but you cannot consider him to be in any future plans.

I think cutting him is the least distracting move and best for everyone.

There really is no stat line that would keep me from drafting and or bringing in another QB. He could play his way into still being on the team next year though, if he really improves his play. I've still yet to see him complete a nice deep pass though and that makes him pretty useless as a NFL QB.

It's not just stats, and I daresay that I don't even really care about stats in the sense that I think stats tell the whole story. I want to see a QB that can take over games and compete/look competent against the best competition. Even if the surrounding cast is a bit subpar you can still see those guys when they're there.

Mahomes' stats this year are atrocious but the guy can still load the team on his back and make things happen. I'm not saying that the only acceptable QBs are Mahomes-level but that's what Carolina needs to be looking for and it's evident even in this down year that he still has 'it'. Bryce has shown next to nothing in that area.

You should ask Canales and Morgan that question because I have absolutely no say in the matter and neither do you.

You’re either slow or have terrible comprehension, reread the question buddy then give me your answer. This is a forum, a message board, aka a place for discussion on certain topics I never said we have pull or a say so in the decision I proposed a realistic question. Today’s topic is there anything Bryce can do for YOU to want him back next year.

Can he get to 100+ yards passing by halftime? It seems impossible for him. He shows off in garbage time when the opposing defense lets up. I agree with everyone else about the eye test, he routinely fails that. The best eye test thing I saw from the Giants game was he actually stood tall in the pocket some, even stepping up in the clean pocket to make the pass. Keep doing that and throwing with anticipation and maybe it'll work out some for him. But I just don't have much hope for him long-term.

Yeah, he gets credit for trying. He does. But I don't see any way he can really be a pocket QB because he is so damned short and small I don't feel like he can see the field without having throwing lanes like, between the tall people.

And I never objected to his size, fragility wise - because I never made it that far to worry about that - but if he is gonna sack up and take the hits for stepping into the throws I don't know how long that will work.

And I feel like Canales has to x out so many potential calls because of one limitation or the other; we don't have a fully diverse passing offense with him back there. It is limited.

I said what I said, buddy.

it's not about the numbers. not even necessarily about the wins. it's what i can see.

i want to see a guy back there that is confident, composed, and in command of the offense....or at least obviously growing in these ways.

I want to see chemistry increasing between him and his line, his RBs, and his pass catchers.

i also want to see confidence in BY coming from his teammates.

and of course i want to see that ball move down the field and get into the endzone more often. he needs to be taking advantage of every opportunity and even creating some when things fall apart.

Unfortunately, 23 games into his career we have yet to see that happen.

IMO, there is nothing else to see. I cannot recall a first round QB ever looking this bad and then subsequently recovering to have an even NFL average starting QB career.

He is very clearly a backup caliber QB at his extreme ceiling.

We were wrong. A lot of people ended up being wrong. It just is what it is.

i have a very small sliver of hope that he might be trending that direction, but no way would i look ahead into the offseason thinking that he should be the guy we go into next season with.

i haven't seen nearly enough and i seriously doubt we will get close to that point.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
