I remember a guy who was pretty good that was told he was too small to play at the college level, let alone the NFL, then had kind of a big impact on our organization...

Thanks.  My bad for leaving him out of the example list

The hater label has become so overused it has no meaning here in reference to Bryce Young anymore.

This isn't a Cam situation where he entered the league balling out and people begrudgingly cheered and still lowkey loathed him.

He's had to earn his gig back after playing horrendously. Now he's looking like a serviceable starter. That's where we're at.

A serviceable starter with this limited roster would have been blown out today by arguably the best team in football.

Look at this roster dude he doesn't have much to work with besides a good Oline.

His mental toughness is off the charts for him to come back and do what he's doing

Exactly.  Which might be the biggest difference maker of them all.  That was actually something many questioned.  He has done a 180 on so many visual things like body language that I feel are tough to fake in the moment.

it’s frankly rare for any QB to rebound out of where Bryce found himself

I love how Bryce looking like a barely serviceable, still below average NFL QB, is making people think he has shown he can be a franchise QB.

You don't trade away multiple 1st round picks and your best offensive player for that.

I said it before we even drafted him, his max potential was like 20th best QB in the league, too good to ever let walk in free agency but never good enough to actually be elite and lead you to SB contention.

That was a year and a half ago before we even drafted him and I still don't think he can be that good, I'd drop it back now to maybe 25th best QB in the league.  He might be a serviceable game manager, but he's never going to be an average QB in this league, he just doesn't have the physical traits to be so.

He's looking halfway competent and putting up below average numbers, stop trying to pretend he's all of a sudden balling out.

So as of today, I am leaving Bryce Haters Inc.  While he does have some physical limitations that aren’t ideal in a created player on Madden….so have other Panthers like 89, CMC, etc.  Not suggesting he will be as dominate but outside the box can work.

Wait, what are the physical limitations of CMC when coming into the league? He has a 8.52 RAS. It's ok if you don't want to say it. 😂

All good, just pokin some fun.  It is crazy how many guys that arent "NFL style" players have been the most important staples for us.  Hell, even Cam, he was a running QB and "That had never really worked in the NFL" up to that point.  Who in the world would run zone read in the NFL, no way could a QB survive, let alone thrive.  Those were the narratives, then he became the gamechanger.  We really wouldnt have the Jalen hurts, or the Lamar Jacksons of this game today, if the path wasnt blazed by Cam.

He’s doing well for a 2nd year QB with bad WRs.

He’s not elite, but the potential is there.

It is not an insult to say he is a serviceable starter for the time being. If someone is wanting me to say he looks like a franchise QB right now that's entering hopium territory to me. It is encouraging that he has made the progress he has under Canales. That means that while I have gained confidence in Bryce I am even more confident in wanting to see Dave Canales bring in another QB who isn't Andy Dalton or Jack Plummer and see what a fresh QB room will look like.

I like Young and I'm glad he's turned it around and made some great strides in his passing game, his decision-making and his performances overall.

Still, he's not a franchise-tier QB and never will be in Carolina -- no matter how cool it'd be for that to happen. He's deserved a win these last two weeks and has been let down by his teammates, but I still expect a 3-4 INT game every week. Maybe it's PTSD, maybe it's just been the inevitable being staved off, maybe I don't want to be optimistic because this team thrives on letting down those who are.

Get a guy who can challenge him for the starting job next year.

Why can't people simply see this?   Instead of brilliant balling outplayed mahomes hurts etc.   He's raised his play to top 20 nfl starter

    • Brother re-check that guarantee...my page shows 30mill.....thats means he's staying in my book for at least til the end of 2026.  Im going to be my normal honest self, besides watching like half of the SB, I didn't know the guy. My guess is Panthers have a "planned model of paying players" and they almost had to spend a chunk of space on a DLman after Dbrown injury season gave them a nightmare out-come of worst D in NFL scoring. Once Milton got above Dbrown payments, they went with the plan B. A player whom the "co-GM" put his name with. Brad said turk would not be a problem off-field and leader, which the Panthers need badly. I dug in with the google-fu, I found out  I also found him playing lots of NT, which was shocking given the small frame. He seems ready for a bigger role and had a great SB too. IDK, I feel Dan Morgan was dead set on not going into this season without more DL depth and its there. The real deal is this, nearly all FA take one year to "adjust". I think turk is trying too hard and causing injuries as a result for his contract. Dbrown called turk "strong as hell" and I know for a fact Dbrowns has insane core and strength numbers. They lift together with the 50 LB difference...... you always lift with a guy who's similar in strength cause you can leave on the 8 wheels, let the other guy lift while you rest and go after him.  I do wish he had a better beginning to his panther career, 3 games for him to do so and it would cover up the low points if he made a few plays.... Again it felt like they almost had to make move/spend $$$ and Morgan was going to have DL depth this season no matter what...My best guess.
    • There's a reason DC wasn't getting calls to be a HC. He wasn't ready. His indecisiveness is infuriating. His lack of awareness is mystifying. He jumped at the chance to grab the David Tepper retirement plan and who can really blame him. Maybe with time he can grow into the job. But we're on year 8 of our 7 year rebuild. I think I'm gonna need a hip replacement before we get a decent HC.
