If Graham is gone, fo you take Carter?

Have a feeling Jaguars might snatch up Graham at 5. Would you take Carter and then find a space eater for the Dline in 2nd round? They have to address both areas. Linebacker's next.....

Yes or no

Don’t reach. Get BPA on the board and get outta round 1 with an immediate starter. There are space eaters (DL) in round 2, Deone Walker and Kenneth Grant.

Where are those 2 projected to go in the draft? I need to check out the top 100 for this draft and try to figure out who may still be there at our 2nd round pick.

Imagine Carter goes before Graham.  Lot of fans think top edge rushers should fit the old 6’6” 285 mold, but that’s not what teams are looking for.

listening to the insiders talk and it sounds like Carter is really well liked.

edit: also the “I don’t want Carter thing because he’s still developing, give me Graham” is kind of an odd take given that DT is like the single longest development window in the sport.

If Carter or Mason Graham are taken before #8, another name to keep an eye on is Walter Nolen, good DT from Mississippi. Maybe trade back to get Nolen.

I mentioned him earlier. He’ll be a riser throughout this process

I like Carter as a prospect. But i also dont want to take him for him to sit behind Wonnum. If we do take him I'd want to trade Wonnum or if we cut him it saves about 8mil i believe and we could spend that towards Safety or Nose tackle.

    • At this point. You can’t take Sanders unless you’re the Steelers, Chiefs, Ravens, or Bills. Team has to have No QB, Elite QB, or high on hallucinogens 40 year old QB. Anything else is self sabotage. And I actually like Sanders, hate watched him for 2 years. Something about being a Heisman finalist after running for your life and getting your ass whipped every drop back and still performing at a high level. Definitely should’ve been 2nd QB off the board,
    • I was very curious to see if we overpaid on either trade so I plugged all the numbers in the most commonly referenced draft value chart (https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp). The numbers are below, but to summarize, both trades were very fair value. We overpaid the equivalent of pick 202 in our trade with Denver and actually got a slight value back with the Patriots equal to pick 210 but both of those are later 6th round picks. If you add them together, we overpaid by 3.2 points, or pick 219 which is the 3rd pick in the 7th round. Good to know we didn't do anything reckless. My work is below if you want to see the math.  Trade 1 Outgoing value: 57 - 330 pts 74 - 220 pts 111 - 72 pts 230 - 1 pt Total: 623 pts   Incoming value: 51 - 390 pts 85 - 165 pts 122 - 50 pts 208 - 7.8 pts Total: 612.8 pts   Difference: Loss of 10.2 pts (equal to pick 202 in 6th round)   Trade 2 Outgoing value: 85 - 165 pts 146 - 33 pts Total: 198 pts   Incoming value: 77 - 205 pts   Difference: Gain of 7 points (equivalent of pick 210 in 6th round)   Total difference: 7 - 10.2 = loss of 3.2 points (equivalent of pick 219 in 7th round)
    • I’m usually more risk adverse but, I’m wondering if it doesn’t make sense to rip the band aid off, cut Clowney and start Scourton.  Unless he just seems lost in camp, let’s throw him in the fire and get him real three down starter experience.
