We absolutely need defense. I'm not saying don't go offense if the top player on our board when we draft is TMac, but our overall strategy must be to rebuild the D. Look at how Washington was able to rebuild in a single year... Now we need to.

Washington definitely improved their defense via FA. Mostly our guys. They just use them correctly.

But they already had weapons and a great RB. They've just been in HC and QB purgatory since RG3.

I miss Luvu, haha.  Chinn too, but really we hadn't used him well since his rookie year.

Perfect offseason.

Trade down: Get Emeka Egbuka and additional 2nd for our 1st.

Trade current second for AJ Brown.

That takes our WR corp from arguably worst in the league to possibly a top 10 unit with two moves.

2nd Round: Jack Sawyer

IDC after that. If we have Egbuka, Sawyer, AJ Brown after day 1-2 I’m happy.

FA: Austin Eckler, Dre Greenlaw, Hasson Reddick

These are likely low(er) cost FA with high upside. Kind of medium risk, high reward possibilities. This is also assuming Derrick Brown and Shaq can come back healthy. Which..if they can’t the defense is terrible anyway.

No way to validate this idea which makes it someone’s guess more than likely.   I said Garrett Wilson and 42 for 8.  Have to be sure he will sign here cuz he wants to be paid soon

I could almost bite on this one. They say the Edge is a deep class and 42 would most likely give us a good edge player. At 57 we take BPA defensive player. However, I seriously doubt NYJ would bite unless Wilson was going to hold out and demand a trade.

In no world would the Eagles give us Brown for our 2nd when there 100% would be teams out there who would give them their 1st for him.

He turns 28 soon and just signed an extension through his prime, someone like the Chargers would absolutely give them their 1st this year for him.  And even if not that, I could see the Patriots giving them their 2nd which would be well before ours, or a whole bunch of other teams who need WR help, that Rams 2nd is going to be late.

the OP has names like Kennan Allen, Chris Godwin, etc. in it.  I don't not consider those dudes to be true #1s in the year 2025.   I don't want to invest draft stock into old WRs who presently aren't even #1s.  That doesn't project out to be an answer for us.  That's a rental.

It really just depends on the WR and the compensation. If we're talking a third rounder or later I'm much more likely to pull the trigger. If it's pick 8 overall it has to be a certified WR1 not a WR 1B or a WR 2. Teams just don't make those available, esp after the titans fuged up the AJ brown trade.

The goal is to win football games. Lacking a true #1 receiver is not why this team lost, and it’s not even close. Defense still does win championships

defense doesn't win you games. it helps you keep from losing games you should win, which is what happened here the last half of the season.

the first half of the season we never stood a chance either way.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
