did we have an old anthem?

I remember some lame song that featured dudes in sweats running across the field with flags.

Then there was this (my favorite, but hard to duplicate):

The bar is high.

they did that song with the flags in Clemson the first season, immediate facepalm

then I knew great things were in store for this franchise

In November 2018, Kirk shot a 19-year-old man in the abdomen at a Walmart in Huntersville, North Carolina. The man, Jaylin Domonique Craig died soon after.[65] Kirk confirmed his involvement in the shooting and said that he acted in self-defense.[66] The most serious charges were dropped in March 2019,[65] and he pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon, a misdemeanor.[67]

In April 2022, Rolling Stone released the surveillance tape of the incident, sparking renewed scrutiny in the incident after Kirk shot a trespasser at his Troutman, North Carolina estate earlier that month.[68] No one was charged for the incident in Troutman.[69]

In January 2020, Kirk was detained and questioned in Miami in connection with a robbery investigation. He was later arrested after authorities found he had an arrest warrant out in Texas stemming from a battery charge.[70] According to TMZ and other outlets, members of his crew allegedly assaulted and robbed a music promoter who only paid Kirk $20,000 of the $30,000 he was owed for a performance in Miami.[71][72] Reports state that he and his associates allegedly took $80 cash, an iPhone 7, and a credit card from the promoter. Kirk was charged with battery and released from Miami-Dade County jail 48 hours later.[73]

During Kirk's 2020 "Up Close N Personal" tour, he slapped a female fan on his way to the stage for a performance in Tampa, Florida. The crowd responded by booing, and he left the venue without performing any songs. He said that he struck her because she placed her phone too close to his face while taking a video with the flash on. In a video posted on Instagram, Kirk said, "I do apologize that there was a female on the other end. I think by this time, you know it's a well known fact that male or female, I would've responded the same exact way."[74]

Yeah, he's shaky to say the least. I wouldn't do business with him.

It's fantastic, don't hate

Other teams (like the Packers) have a HUGE history of old school songs in their team library in all sorts of genres.  We need more variety of quick, catchy singalongs that are unique to us

We’re way past DUE for a new anthem.

I hope we replace “Sweet Caroline”, as the song has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Carolinas and makes Panthers fans appear ignorant for singing it after we win. Sorry for the rant but I hate we “adopted” that song.

We need to take a page out of their book and do the same.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
