I mean at that point just take Will Campbell. I don't think you necessarily need to settle at the edge position in this class, it is very deep. Snagging a ten year starter at the tackle spot who is a blue chip player is just smart. Him or Will Johnson make sense there if this is how it all plays out.

I would have no regrets picking him at 8.  Dude is an animal and we could move icky to the right and have our line set for the immediate future.   I just think when the dust settles there is no way a kid of that caliber slips to 8.   But I would run to the podium if he did defense be damned

New England is the wild card here.  They have their qb, so protecting him and getting him a wr will be tempting.  If they go with bpa, they might take Abdul or Johnson.

we'll have good options either way at 8.

Never understood how this guy made billions having terrible draft opinions

I mean, no one is right. You just have to make it interesting, and Kiper is a fast talker with a smooth delivery that knows a lot about the players and team needs.

He was more interesting back in the 80s before everyone had the internet.  He could throw out facts and data that we simply did not have at our fingertips.  Now he is a bit obsolete, and his opinion (not a former coach, gm, or player) is more of a used car salesman pitch than data-driven analysis and prediction.

With Carter, gram and tmac off the board this draft is deep at defense much more so than offense

picking in the top 8 you want to walk away with a elite player no matter the position if jeanty is there I wouldn’t be surprised if he is the pick after our last year pick will be out all of next year we don’t know if he will ever recover or Tyler Warren te from penn state either of these two are in play with the first pick being most of our free agents will be defensive signings

    • https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp Going by this chart that won’t get it done, at all.  both of our 5th rounders are worth 56, total.    The 51st is valued at 390. Moving to 41 takes 100 points. In the second where we are, it is basically 10 points per slot. You can get in front of TB for 60 points. Baltimore at 45.  Which who would do that for 56 points? You are on a wing and a prayer.    To realistically have a good shot at these top guys, outside of Golday, it is gonna take at least 100 points, I am thinking.  And when they go, Golday’s market probably gets a lot hotter.  Just going by the rankings/valuations, I am thinking if you realistically want to assure you get your guy it will take trading back in the first. Which is why I have been saying to do that if we can.  For example 19 is valued at 875. 21 is 800. That, plus one of the 5ths gets you to 100 points which you theoretically could use to get to 41.    I think there are going to be several good options for us at 19, if we are good with taking what is left at 21-23 we can get a good player plus fund a trade up for one of these LBs which is what I am thinking makes sense.
    • Alabama money line is a big one.
    • I'm just letting everyone know he's on the list in the second tier, not that I think it gets there because Donovan wants the job.  UNC is waiting on Lloyd and Arizona's run to end, if that doesn't work out then Donovan is likely the new head coach.
